The list of cars may be off in the early years. Some of them were memorable only for their trouble:
1960 Triumph (Never did get used to the stick, didn't have it long)
1964 Volkswagen 1500 (A twin-carb lemon that spent more time in the shop than on the road)
1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass
1972 Toyota Corolla (New, was totaled a year later)
1970 Buick (Skylark?)
1975 Toyota Celica (New, sporty little car)
1981 Toyota Corolla (New, fire-engine red wagon)
1988 Isuzu Trooper (New, my first 4WD)
1996 Jeep Cherokee Country (New, actually took it off-road)
2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (New, more of a road car than the Cherokee)

I'm also surprised how young the poll results are. Makes me feel old at 37. I've wanted a 4Runner for a long time, and I finally pulled the trigger this year. I think this is car #10 in the 20 years I've been driving.

Im 30 years old. I have a 97 limited 4runner and its been in our family since 1996 off the showroom floor when I was 11 years old and my oldest brother bought it.
Before her, ive driven an old Jeep and an old Range Rover.
Im impressed by all the people who have owned so many cars. Im so OCD on maintenance it'd be hard to own more than 2 at one time.
Its also weird to think a vehicle generation that is 20 years old blends in perfectly to modern times. The 3rd gen is a legend in my book.

2007 Durango 5.7L Hemi - This was an animal
2009 Mazdaspeed3 - Loved this car. My buddy owns this now.
2001 BMW 740i with 80k miles - I have a thing for older BMWs.
2001 Subaru Impreza RS with 90k miles.
1988 BMW 325is with 15k miles - Still own this, almost done restoring it before it goes on the chopping block.
