There have been times I've had to PM back and forth and back and forth with people. Wondering if it's possible to input a chat room area where people can get together and talk about whatever they need to instead of having to refresh their PM box or whatever.

I know there are still HTML based chat rooms out there so just a thought.....

It's been investigated before (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1829&highlight=chat+room) but it was a while back. Let's see what Greg and Thai are thinking now.

In the meantime, is there a reason you didn't use AIM or one of the other services?

Well, for the most part it's an easy sort of complicated reason. I am usually on the forums at work, where we are unable to download or run any "chat program" including running any express program or whatever. That's why I never used that. But it was because of that which made me question why no one has ever implemented a chat room on here (hence my previous suggestion) so I wouldn't have to download more programs or run more applications on my desktop here at work.

Now as for the website, there are chat room applets you can sign up for and then embed in a webpage in order to have direct access to talking with someone. It may not be utilized for 100% of the time but they are usually free, so my suggestion is the same for this as something on your 4Runner... you may not use it all the time, but wouldn't you rather it be there and never use it than not be there and need it? It's free but it's still just a suggestion, and if no one likes the idea then that's cool too!

P.S. I also noticed that the last post to that was 2 years ago. I think the site has grown tremendously since then so maybe it's time for a step up?
