Hey guys -

I think it's time to update the look of T4R.ORG. I've been working on a new theme/skin and want to get your feedback. My goal was:

* stop using default vBulletin colors and icons
* bolder look, hence a bold header/logo
* still keep it very clean, hence very few colors.

In order to see the new look, scroll down to the very bottom of the page and look for a drop-down menu with "-- Toyota -Runner .org Forum vBulletin 3 Style". That's the old theme. Pick the new one called "New Look!".

What do you guys think? Like it or ditch it?

I'd like to run this poll for a few days and either switch the site to the new look or keep it the same.

I've been here for a while and have gotten use to the current theme. However, I think the new theme looks good.

I'm pretty impartial, but lean slightly towards the newer one.

You've made some nice changes. Keep up the good work.
 
I like the look of the site, its simple and organized. Plus I like that my trucks at the top lol. :thumb3:
 
I don't usually like changing things for the sake of changing them - but you didn't go overboard. Like another poster said - it does seem a little easier on the eyes. Favor the new one slightly.
 
I like it, but it would be nice if the t4r meets section was higher up and before the regional regional sections. That section kind of gets overlooked being way down there.
 
I voted for the old look.
What I'm seeing is really only a colour change, correct? I don't mind the new teal colour compared to the old blue but I don't like the stark contrast with the darker black accents (ie. the dark header; bold black text; light text in dark icons is harder to see.) Think of people with glasses. Can you tweek the dark with something softer?
Aside from the new colours, I have a complaint about the location of the ads. It's not a problem when you are logged in but I can't always do that (blocked at work.) Recently the ads are appearing as part of the threads. I find it annoying that the ads are in the meat of the posts. I think this takes away from the quality of the content, which is why we are here in the first place. This may also deter others from joining the site.

I also dont see the point in changing something just for the sake of changing it.

I prefer the old look. The colors are easier on the eyes, and the ad placement is better. Also the 4runner photo on the old site is a tad better.
 
I say 2010 is almost over so why not go with something new. Change never hurts and as long as we are not looking all day for something thats right in front of our faces, see ya later old theme and hello new one.
 
definitely like the new version. as for content and layout, i would suggest looking at tacomaworld.com. i think they have one of the best forum layouts

The only thing bad about the new forum to me is that any website links...etc... do not show up in the traditional "blue" font that like they normally do, only an "underline", and are thus much harder to notice and don't stand out as good as they should.

While the new look is clean and bright, not a fan of the dark color and stark contrast.

Then again, it's your site, so make any changes you want.
