I'm considering buying my brother's 2001 SR5 4x4 150k, but he's had a steady check engine light on for a few months and neither the dealership nor a reputable mechanic shop (though not toyota specialists) have been able to figure out the issue.
A number of repairs have been done to try to solve the CEL and I'm in the process of getting a full list of those.
I'm not handy or committed enough to manage major repairs but I want to take care of this truck and use it as a roadtrip/surf vehicle so the CEL is making me nervous about even buying it in the first place.
Please give me any recommendations you have for trusted T4R mechanics in Austin, TX (preferably South).
