Cool pix. NJ is a really nice state. Lots of trees and green as all get out. We stayed in NJ a few years ago, not too far from Philly PA where our friends live. We drove down to Cape May, went to Atlantic City, and also drove out to Lancaster in Amish Country.
Would LOVE to take the 4Runner up there.
And Full Service gas stations up there freak me out!! I've never had someone pump my gas before LOL. I got out and tried to fill up our rental and some guy was hassling me over it lol. I had to tell him to buzz off I'm not paying anyone a tip to pump my gas!! He wasnt happy. Seems like all the stations up there were full service. Weird.

LOL... you don't tip the pump jockey! It's the law in NJ that gas stations must have pump jockeys to pump your gas. I live in NY, but only 5 miles from the NJ border. NJ gas taxes are less than NY, so I usually drive over the border into NJ to get gas. I'd rather pump my own gas, but I don't mind letting someone else do it while I sit in my 4Runner!

You didn't get any "pinstripes" the first time there? How did you know which trails were narrow and which were not?
I'd like to check it out, but I don't really want any "pinstripes" on my flawless paint. Call me a sissy, but I don't want to scratch up my paint on a trail....at least until my paint isn't in perfect condition anymore.
Now when my 4Runner gets a little older, well, that's a different story. But for now, I'll try to keep her scratch free!
So how many trails are wide enough to not worry about "pinstripes"

Didn't get any pinstripes the first time.
1. Started at the Batsto Village (4110 Nesco Rd, Hammonton, NJ
2. cont Batsto Washington Rd
3. cont Washington Jenkins Rd
4. left on washington Sprewell Rd.
5. left on Hawkins Sprewell Rd
6. left on E Sandy Ridge Rd
7. cont on Carranza Rd
8. Carranza Memorial is on the Left
9. cont and you'll be back on asphalt... Pick-a-lily Restaurant along 206 have excellent buffalo wings!
2nd time around I just went on a different route through Eagle Rd. and Goodyear Rd, that's where I got all the pinstripes but that is where I had more fun, the road is more uneven and deeper sands but not deep enough to get you stuck.

Looks like a blast! But how can I avoid the narrow trails without knowing them in advance?
Damn, I feel like I'm babying my 4Runner too much by worrying about scratches! LOL
Should I put a skirt on, or does anyone else with a new 4Runner feel the same way?

maybe I should go back after a rain.Even Steven, I forgot to mention that there are no road signs on the trails. I was using my treo gps. It displays the roads that I mentioned. But on my second drive, most of the trail I tried wasn't showing on the gps. You could easily see if the trail is starting to narrow.
