T4R's First Outting

Took my 4Runner out to Green Ridge, MD for it's first outting on the trails. Here's some pics and vids of the trip:

Hey, did you get any water inside the cabin on your river crossing? I know it wasn't that deep, but it looks like it was at least up to the door bottoms at some points.

I've never done a river crossing, so I'm not sure if water that high will make it into the cabin...

Nope, stayed dry. I was a little nervous at first, but in the end I didn't end up joining the submarine club. From what I can gather from that crossing, the doors are pretty well sealed.

In Muddy Twist you can actually see right front and rear wheels spinning at different speeds. Pretty cool! :biggrin2:

Very nice shots and Vids. Amazing what these vehicles are capable of in even stock form. I sure hope that does not go away in the 5th Gen.

I take it you explored the river before you dove in ....lol.

Great pics and vids of the trail. The 4Runner is definitely well sealed. We hit a pretty deep mud puddle at Rausch Creek and the truck stayed dry. If you haven't washed the truck yet, take a look at the rear doors. They get pretty dirty at the rear.

Also, removing your side steps will get you a little more clearance on the sides.

Is green ridge a set of trails specifically for offroading (much like rausch creek)? I've been thinking of going to rausck creek but if green ridge is close and available I'd rather much go there considering I'm in maryland.

Green Ridge isn't necessarily a bunch of trails. It is an 18 loop for off-road vehicles (ATV's, 4x4's, etc), with a couple of shortcuts through it. Being in E.C., you would have a much quicker drive there than I did (took 2-2.5 hours there and back for me). If I go there, I just go early and make a whole day event out of it. Definitely a lot of fun.
