I have had my Silver 2016 4Runner TE, with factory rack (later deleted and added Rhino Rack tracks in gutters) for about a year now. I will begin posting pics of it, from it's infant stage, to where it sits now. I will come back later and talk about the mods I did, many of which I learned about how to do myself, through this great site. I hope you enjoy...


This was the trip home from last year's Expo west, where I purchased and ARB compressor, recovery equipment, and an SPOD to begin my project.

I was still rocking the Yetti. I sold that and bit the bullet and bought a NL fridge, which will hopefully last for life.

Next post after TRD black wheels and BFG KO2 tires (275), and eventually an OME from Cruiser Outfitters.

Next pic shows a new CBI rear bumper, mostly loaded, to get ready to head to DV and the beach. So far I'm loving the rear bumper.

The way CBI wired the license plate light was kinda cheesy, so I fixed that (pics to come). Also, the vertical mounted spare is standard for them, but I like the canted one, so I replaced this early. This causes the hi-lift to be mounted on the bottom of the bumper (thanks to many on here who helped me figure out how to mount it). Don't mind the bungie. I eventually figured out how to keep the table in the locked position by adjusting the screws within the catch mechanism.

Adding a sleep platform to the front of the ARB drawers:

After removing the back seat on the passenger's side.

I bolted 3/4 inch plywood (2x4', which I believe I had cut down to 37" long) purchased at Home Depot, to the lip on the back of the ARB drawers. I then added 1/2 inch gas pipe (18 in) to the front of the plywood to support the platform.

Plywood was covered with cheap ass carpet also from the home depot. It's not totally level but I'm okay since it's the head end that is elevated slightly.
