Tacoma brakes on 4Runner??

I have searched on this topic........

I saw on another board guys retro-fit Tacoma calipers on 3rd generation 4Runners to eliminate rotors warping. As well, they say due to the 4 piston design brake feel is greatly improved. Has anyone here done this mod?? Any truth is this??

i think you mean tundra brakes...

yeah, i think it would be tundra brakes also, but no, i dont know of anyone that has done that, the only thing i have done to my brake system is rip off the drums in the back and put disc on, MUCH better stop, It stops, and my truck is REALLY heavy

I'm preparing to do this mod. I'll document the job and post it if anyone here cares.

Seems as if most folks who post here are more interested in fog lights, trans fluid & dash overlays.

yotatech is more technical, yes... but you dont have to put this board down.

just do the thing based on the 1 million yt threads (you apparently searched there but managed not to find the PLETHORA of info on it), then when youre done start a thread here and share some good info.

i use yotatech for any technical questions i have, as well as a mirror post on here just incase anyone happens to see it. as far as asking what you were asking about, i was just wondering exactly which part you need help with, i felt like it was a decent write up of what to do, seemed fairly simple to me. do you need part numbers or what. you asked about if anyone has done this, obviously this guy has done it, and he says it makes a great improvement. do you not know how to perform the work or what. i was just asking questions to understand what you needed help with. so if you want any help from me, post back, and i will help where i can, but dont flame the board

Can you show pics of this setup? The Tundra upgrade is much more simple than changing the drums in the rears to discs. I'd like to see the work you put into this as well as a writeup.

as far as a write up, cant do one, its already done, didnt think about writing it down while it was happening, its pretty straight forward with the kit from all pro, the only reason i switiched the rear was because i needed to replace the rear drums anyways, seems like mud and 90k will get to them, and it was around 500 anyways, so i just decided to spend a little more and get the disc, i took a picture so you can see the basics, if you need more then ill take my tire off and snap a few

Weird. When this question was brought up b/c a guy was selling a conversion kit on yotatech, there was much more to do than slap on a $500 kit. I believe there were challenges with the e-brake and you had to use parts from different cars. I think some of the parts were from a Caddy. Can you provide more info on this kit and total cost? If the kit was $500, were there any additional parts to purchase? Was it a direct bolt-on? I'm very interested b/c I will be doing the Tundra conversion this weekend and would like to do the rears as well.
