Tacoma Clutch Pedal?

I'm having a difficult time finding a clutch pedal from a 4Runner, and I've read in a swap thread that the Tacoma assemblies are different than ours- can anyone confirm this?

I did find the part number for the bracket, and I'm thinking that if the Tacoma assemblies are different, I could still probably get one and swap the parts over to a new 4Runner bracket.

Not sure about the bracket shape, but the Tacos have a linear spring and the T4Rs have a horseshoe/ "U" spring. The linear spring is upgradeable on the 4Runner pedal. Hope this helps

From what I can find online, Tacomas had the same radial spring as 4runners, but quite a few guys remove them and replace with the linear spring similar to the brake pedal. The radial spring is more than a return spring though, so it makes operating the clutch different. The swap is mostly done due to the annoying creak and constant wear of the plastic spring-retaining bushings.

I think I can use the Tacoma guts on a 4Runner bracket ordered through the dealer or other OE outlet, but a confirmation of that would be awesome.

I have been researching this issue, and I concur with what you said, because the Tacoma guys are doing the same spring switch that the 4Runner guys do.

Just be really careful you get the right spring, because the #70 hardware spring hits in one or two places during the full pedal travel:

And even the (fat) brake-pedal return spring hits the bracket because it's too fat:

So you want to get the spring size that doesn't hit the pedal tab or the bracket:
