Tacoma Hood, 2001-2004

I was looking at one of the Parts sites and there is not a 'sport hood scoop' listed for the Tacoma. or was there a sport model? got a 4 dr PreRunner 2002 in the family. just curious. thanks

You're right, the first gen Taco was never offered with a scooped hood.

The closest thing to a "sport" model for the first gen Taco was the S-Runner, the predecessor to the current X-Runner. The S-Runner hood did not have a scoop either.

Does the scoop hood has any functional advantage? Or just a visual add?

The 2nd gen Tacoma scooped hoods are cosmetic, not functional. The 4th gen 4Runner is also cosmetic, unless it's got a diesel engine.

Yeah, the scoop is functional with a diesel and an intercooler. Not all diesels were intercooled.
