Tacoma mini headers swap

Newbie here ! I was planning on swapping my headers since it has a crack on it with a 2002 Toyota Tacoma headers . I know that everything above 2001 and up they came factory with these so called mini headers . They’re for my 2.7 3rz . The seller sent me some photos and I was asking for some type of identification numbers on the headers so I could verify them but he said he couldn’t find any. Can someone tell just by these photos ? Thanks !

I have done this upgrade to mine 4ish years back.

That pic is the old cast type header (or maybe something aftermarket??) , not the new Tacoma Mini Header. If someone is trying to sell you that, don't bother.

The new OEM mini header is a welded pipe type of header. If you search this site you should be able to find all the part numbers you need.

The upgrade needs a LOT of nuts and bolts and gaskets and a heat shield etc. It's a lot of work to assemble the needed list yourself. A member on here (@Deathcougar) sells a full kit ready to go. Maybe get in touch with him.

Once done it is a neat and clean package and frees up some space on that side of the engine. I noticed NO change in performance or fuel economy though.

Thinking about this overnight. That is NOT a factory cast manifold either. Do not buy it.

The OEM 4runner header (cast or newer weld style) only neck down to 2 ports where it joins the cat pipe. the last 2 to 1 blend is in the cat pipe. There are 2 smaller ring gaskets between the manifold and the cat pipe, not one big one.

Not sure what that part pictured is from.

thanks! the guy who was trying to sell it to me said it was from a 2002 toyota tacoma. i know some of the factory tacomas came with the mini header and i just wanted to be certain. thanks for the link!

Just to clarify, that header he sent you a picture of isn't a cast manifold, but it IS a stock manifold for an 01-04 2WD 2RZ. The 3RZ (4wd and PreRunner) used the tubular manifold I sell in my kit, which matches your downpipe.

If you ever buy a used one, you'll need 01-04 3RZ ONLY
