Tacoma shift knob?

Ok so i HATE the shift knob on the 2010. I previously owned a 06 Taco and it had a nice leather wrapped shift knob. I think it would look great in the Runners. Does anyone know if it will fit onto the threads? I probably will just end up trying my buddies on to see. If i get an answer from you guys and gals I will probably just go get one.

How is shifter knob held on

Does the shift knob just unscrew off of the shifter shaft? I agree that stock knob has to go!
 
Ya know...I wondered why Toyota made that thing so damn huge - but honestly I've grown to love it. Its the same height as the arm rest so when you're resting your arm on the arm rest you can rest your hand on the shifter...its perfect, try it out! :biggrin2:
 
i'm personally a fan of resting my hand on it as well and dont find that its really that bad looking but i'm always up for changin sh!t around.
 
My buddy has a 2010 Taco, and I noticed the difference in quality of the shift knobs before purchsing so I asked the dealer to throw in a Tacoma shift knob. He took mine off, we went over to a Tacoma and took that one off and then he screwed the 4Runner knob onto the Tacoma but it just kept spinning and he said that it "doesn't fit". Maybe he lied and just didn't wanna get in trouble for doing it or the 4runner shift knobs don't fit the Tacoma but the Tacoma shift knob somehow manages to fit the 4Runner...
