My electric antanae touches the bottom of my garage door (the rubber seal) everytime I go in or out of my garage if I have the radio on, so it rocks back and forth after contact, this might be something worth looking into. That can't be good for it, lol.

Just to let yall know you can get the whole antennae assembly from toyota for a tacoma for about 45 bucks with the mast. I put one on my runner a few weeks ago.

Do you know which part #'s you got, and was it the silver or black mast? My power mast finally gave up on our vacation last week.

86300-35090 is for the antenna assembely with a silver antenna.-about $38

86309-AA040 is for JUST a black antenna - $28

I also did a write up for it in page 11 of my build.

I got a brand new antenna assembely+ antenna from the dealer for like $35. But it only comes with the silver antenna.. Just to get the black antenna costs like $30 extra..

I can't find any before/ after pics, but I hear reception is improved also.

Alright i have a guy that rebuilds tacomas and has plenty of the tacoma whips. He said he would sell everthing you need for 30 bucks. Pm if your interestedin getting one he has the black and silver ones.

yeah don't even think he is on here anymore, but i did do an antenna mod, with 8 dollar walmart universal antenna.

Did you use the write up for the Taco Whip mod, or was this different altogether? I've been wanting to do this ever since my antenna snapped off last year, but it seems like a very technical process and I don't want to get in over my head.
