Does anyone know exactly what a tail light relay controls. I've been searching the net for a couple hours now and can't seem to get a straight answer.
The reason I ask is that my park brake light has been on constantly for the last couple weeks. I assumed it was just the switch for the park brake, however a couple nights ago I noticed I had no brake lights at all... the tail lights work fine. I replaced both bulbs, but no luck, the stop fuse was fine, but tried another anyway, checked the ground it was ok, cleaned it up anyway. I also tested the switch on the pedal to make sure it was ok.
I just wanted to know the function of the relay before I start ripping apart the truck looking for a bad wire.
