tail light replacement

Only annoying part is pulling up the inner liner (is that what you call it?) to access the nuts to remove the tail light. Other than that, eazy peezy.

Brother in law broke my tailight last night. Are they hard to replace?

What year is your Runner? The '96 - '00 use a different style (that requires a different wiring harness) than the ones from '01 & '02. If you replace it with the same style, you don't have to pull the liner - just replace the assembly.

Which side is it? I have an older style laying around (can't remember which side, it's at my office - will check tomorrow) that you can have for free if you pay for shipping.

Its a 98. Drivers side tail light
My question is how would I get to said screws out without removing panels?

Sorry brother, the one I have is for the passenger side.
Easy to remove, just take out the two screws and use your palm to tap it to the side towards the outside of the truck. There are two pins holding it in:

Then all you have to do is rotate the three connectors holding the bulbs to pull them out and put them in the new assembly.

Ahhh okay thanks for checking :) I'll just buy some smoked aftermarket ones I've been looking at for a while..
And thanks for the explanation of the light removal.
