My wife just traded in her 2007 SR5 4x4 for 11 Limited 4x4. After visiting 3 different dealers we are finally happy with our purchase price and trade in.. I will have pictures tomorrow after I pick it up.

Options: Luggage rack w/rails, mud flaps, running boards, Home link, Navigation with subwoofer, blue tooth, satellite radio, 3rd row seat, leather, exhaust tip, remote start, wheel locks.

MSRP - $44,640
Our Price - 39,634
Trade in - $21,250 (we still owed $13,000)

If you are looking to buy a new vehicle, shop around and always be ready to walk away. Don't fall in love with the first one you see. It's amazing the price differences between dealers especially on my trade in. 2 of the 3 dealers would not go about $19,000 on my trade. All 3 were right at $40,000 for the vehicle and saying we were 500-1000 below invoice.

What kind of finance rates are you getting?? I'm about to pull plug on 11 SR5 with third row leather.

MSRP 38,563
34,900 for me...

Good story. I on the other hand went to the dealer looking for an old Subaru for my son, not even looking to get rid of my Honda Ridgeline. I knew the owner of the dealership and we were talking about the Subaru and he said " I have a nice 4Runner if you ever want to get rid of your truck." Making a long story short I bought a 4Runner and a 2007 Subaru Impreza lol.

Well went to the dealer and had to refuse the vehicle do to some minor scratches. I went through it and my wife was saying I'm to picky, but for $40,000 I am picky.

Anyway they are going to "fix them", but I told the manager if it doesn't look good I want them to find another vehicle. They seem to think it can be buffed out, but We'll see when I go back.

They also had to order the mud flaps from Toyota, the rep said they just received the part number for them. The parts guy wasn't sure if they will fit with the running boards, but I thought I saw other t4r with running boards and mud flaps.

Needless to say my wife was really disappointed, but after we got home she realized that was the right decision.

Liam1234 - I have a rate of 5.5% through TD Bank North, but a local credit union(that i don't belong to) had it 4.5% for 5yrs..

sorry to hear it

I am really sorry to hear that and can understand how disappointing it must have been! But I think you guys made the right decision here. If the dealer is able to get rid of the scratches- well and good! If not- before long you will a brand new T4R without any scratches!

Owch, that is high! Take your loan through AAA, currently they are offering a deal through Rockland Federal Credit Union 2.49% for 60 months.

Dave- she will be driving it 100% of the time :). I have a company vehicle for work and my personal vehicle is a 09 F150 and I luv my F150. My son is already eyeing the 4runner for when he get his license and he's only 11.

WestWind - Yeah that's high in if you can get 2.49%... I haven't seen 2.49% anywhere around my area. I will check out AAA, if I can get that rate I'll jump on it in a heart beat.

My loan is signed already, so I would have to refinance and I have no early payment fee :) Thanks for the info!

I feel your pain about the scratches. Last week I was picking up my 4TR which also had couple of scratches. Most of them were buffed out but they couldn't fix one of them and they offered me a touch up paint. I didn't know and I didn't feel like refusing a vehicle over this. At the end I found more tiny scratches on the top of the spoiler which they couldn't buff out because it is a plastic.

Your trade-in value is pretty good.

I'm just curious what dealer does with the remaining amount on your previous loan, $13,000?
How they deal with it?

Finally got it

After waiting an additional week and having to get a rental car, we finally have it in our garage!

To make a long story short when we refused the vehicle they took our trade in off the road by accident (office error), so we were driving it without a registration..

My insurance agent called me to tell me that he noticed my plates were attached to the new vehicle through RMV data base.. So they gave us a sh*tty rental SUV for the week.

They were able to fix the scratches and our mud guards came in, but they could only put them on the rear. They would not fit on the front with the running boards.

Ouch. I'll say that is high too. Toyota gave me 2.9% for 72 months. I told them they had to beat my credit union to get my business.

And... Nice ride.
