Tal & Hadas (I HAVE SEARCHED)

As stated, I've searched and searched, to no avail. I have a T & H single pipe bumper. The brackets do not line up at the chassis attatching points. Do you have to take off your whole towing brace? If you reverse them, there's too much of a space for the bumper to attach to. if you try to put them on as illustrated, they are being forced inward by the tow brace, not lying flush. Anyone? Help? thanks

I dont have pics yet, but I can get them. Basically, it seems you have to take off the hitch reciever in order to put the pipe bumber on. The bumper brackets go where the hitch is attatched to the chassis. They can't fit over the hitch brackets. The angle doesn't allow. Do you have the T&H bar with a tow hitch?? If so, do you have pics of the point where the brackets attatch to the chassis??

There are pics of my bumper guard on my signature......

you have to remove the tow hook, that's where the driver's side bracket goes. Then you can easily find the passenger's side bracket. after installing the brackets, you can put the tow hook back on top of the bracket.

it does not interfere with the tow hitch at all.

OK, Trance, if you have pics of the install, I would appreciate it. If installed per the directions, I need to remove the hitch. The "L" angle of the bracket hits the side of the receiver where the receiver's pipe ends. Initially I removed the tow hook, tried putting the brackets onbut there's intereference from the reciever hitch. i'll try to get some pics today.

I installed mine just like Trance mentioned by simply removing the tow hook in the rear (of course I need a torque wrench for this) but then the installation was simple. I attached the brackets (make sure you have the correct bracket on the correct side). The hardest one to fit is the one that fits under the tail pipe.

Well, I just got back from my dealership and found out the problem. I have a heady duty hitch reciever. It's not the same design as the one's which I'm sure you guys are refering to. When I looked at another '06 with the other type of hitch, it's simple. Unfortunately, I don't have it. Left with 2 choices; have brackets custom fabricated or see if anyone would like to trade up to a heavy duty hitch. See you in the classifieds!

Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with. It has a Toyota part number, so there must be two types. Any help greatly appreciated.

That's what I thought as well. I spent the day at 2 different dealerships, and there really is no rhyme or reason to it. V6/V8, SR5, SE, LE, totally random. But, thanks anyway.

V8 4runners come with the weight distributing hitches that can safely pull 7000LBs. The V6 4Runners come with the Weight Carrying hitch good for 5000LBs.

Well at the 2 dealers I went to today, it was random. V6/V8 didn't matter. That's what I had initially thought as well, but upon further review, it's not the case. I actually spoke to Hugo at T & H and he wasn't even aware that this style came stock. I forwarded him the picture as well as the part numbers. When I had the parts guy at Toyota try and look it up, the only trailer hitch was the smaller one. They're making this way too complicated for a hitch.
