On the hunt for a solution

5'11" with LONG torso and moonroof. I LOVE the 4runner and not the seat. I'm looking for a solution for my 3rd Gen seat that reduces overall seat height and adds comfort for longer drives. I'm in pain after longer drives.

So I am 6'1" which I call average not tall, they guy above that is 6'5" he's tall, anyway I have the same inseam as you, so do the math I am 3" taller and it's all torso I also weigh about 200lbs, which I would also consider pretty average. I have zero trouble fitting into my 4 Runner, I have two seating positions one for highway cruising and one for off road they are both comfortable. I do have the 8... or is it 10 way power adjustable drivers seat with the lumbar thingy (love the lumbar thingy) but I have sat in the passenger seat for a one hour period on a rather long recent road trip which is not power adjustable, though also doesn't have pedals and a steering wheel. it was super comfortable. I will say that the seats aren't as comfortable as my Mercedes E classes were, but it would be sort of weird if they were. I think it may be you my man, or as you mentioned earlier perhaps your seat is not typical, seems most 4Runner owners don't have this issue. I hope you figure out a fix for an otherwise great vehicle. :welcome:

My husbands 6'5" and around 280 pounds, he's enjoying the extra room in the 4runner.

Compared to the Ford Edge I use to drive, he looked like a gorilla driving a tricycle. :rofl:

For all you guys having trouble seeing the traffic light go to Lightinsight.com . I have used their product since I got my FJ in 07 it is great. And I'm 6'1" and have no problem in the 4Runner.

6'2" here with a 4th gen. I feel that the seat bottom is too short and the seat needs to be more bucket like. I also feel that the pedals need to be farther back. I work for a valet parking service during the summer so I have sat in hundreds of vehicles. I have found that German and European automakers are the most comfortable followed by U.S. automakers leaving Japanese vehicles last in comfort.
