I tried to search this so im sorry if it is somewhere on here but no luck.
How do you get the white (well really faded out stripe):artist: off? Is it hard I would like to do it with out jacking up the paint anymore than it is.
Thanks

I use a 3m eraser wheel on a drill, then clean up with an adhesive remover. You can also use a heat gun (on low) and start at one end and pull slowly. Again clean up with an adhesive remover.

Thanks guys I will give it a shot once I get it back (blew the head gasket) I should just put a new motor but now once that is done it will almost be I have done all the seals the water pump and pully all the cooling stuff valvecover gaskets and the list keeps going. I thought I had gotten a good deal but now after all that Im at about what a 97 cost. O well I at least my wife let me get some good a/t tires before all the motor work lol

flat black tape

I sanded my down carefully until it was smooth then simply covered it with wide flat black tape striping.

This story sounds eerily familiar to mine... :( Here is to refreshed 4runners!

Amen! I'm almost in the same boat, only my head gaskets are still good. If I have to replace those eventually it'll be like I have a new motor. Good thing I prefer the 90-95 body style to the 96+.

ya dont get me wrong I love my 92 body style im just sayin about the money I have put in to it (good thing I work at a Toyota dealer)

Been there done that on my head gasket ! Also fixed the oil cooler leak, valve cover leak and the oil pan leak. It gets gas mileage like a v8 and it is slow as a turtle ! But it will climb anything :lookout: and I still friggin love it !

Well stopped by the shop to see how the 4runner is going with the head gasket he had everything off and ready to take it the the shop to check the compression and to see if they cracked. The good news is that the right side looks like it was just done right before I bought it. The guy said it looks like the left back cylinder is where the gasket went out (from what I heard that is where they always go?) The strange thing is that he said that the knock sensor was not even hooked up (probably why the check engine light was always coming on) he said that there was no harness to connect it to o well better to find it now than when its all back together\. I hope to get it back soon I miss driving it.
