I use a 3m eraser wheel on a drill, then clean up with an adhesive remover. You can also use a heat gun (on low) and start at one end and pull slowly. Again clean up with an adhesive remover.
Thanks guys I will give it a shot once I get it back (blew the head gasket) I should just put a new motor but now once that is done it will almost be I have done all the seals the water pump and pully all the cooling stuff valvecover gaskets and the list keeps going. I thought I had gotten a good deal but now after all that Im at about what a 97 cost. O well I at least my wife let me get some good a/t tires before all the motor work lol
I sanded my down carefully until it was smooth then simply covered it with wide flat black tape striping.
