TB spacer...pro's & con's

Hey everyone, Ive been hardcore deep in getting my 98 back on the road over the past month and I'm almost there.

I also have an 06 as my current DD, but one my 98 is done she will be my DD.

Anyways I wanted to get all yalls opinion regarding TB spacer. I've noticed a few people on here have them and a friend of mine told me I should get one. I'd hate to spend $50 on a piece of aluminum and it not benifit. Currently I have a CAI w a dry filter and I'll order a borla XR-1 16" muffler.

So will a TB spacer benifit in anyway? Please all pros and cons are welcomed! Facts only please!

The CAI helps a little bit. Plus it gives the engine a throatier sound. It may not do as much for the 4runner, but it definitely helps on other cars with more restrictive intakes. It's not a big change, but it's something.

The TB spacer I don't think makes any sense at all. It's a bit like those fan blades they stick in the TB saying it causes the air to spin, and therefore go in smoother, allowing more air flow when really all they do is impede air flow.

Don't waste your $50, and get a new friend.
 
Don't bother. I bought one in the box new at a garage auction sale in DC; I turned around and sold it for 3x the amount I paid for it.

Spend your money elsewhere.

It might add some sound to the engine but I can tell you for certain this thing isn't fast lol.


However it comes down to what you want to do, if you can find one for a good deal go for it and try it out for yourself.
