TE Rockrails on SR5/LE

I'm assuming that any of the trail rails will work on a SR5/LE as long as you remove or trim the side panel, right? Are the bolt patterns all the same, frame the same?

My idea is to have a builder (RR,SW,BB) build some a little longer in the front 5" or so and maybe 3" in the rear. That way your more or less covering up all the ugly stuff once you remove that side panel. Anyone think that would work?

BLAN cut his rockers, I replaced mine with TE plastic after an adventure in refabrication of rocker panels.

I have an extensive write up in my build thread (see my sig. below).

The Shrockwork slider fit fine on a LE, BUT you will want to request bolt on gussets on all 4 corners in order to avoid having to bend and re-route the XREAS suspension lines. On an SR you will not have this problem because there is no XREAS suspension.

My sliders are from Demello Offroad but I cut my rockers to fit them and to retain the "finished" look.

see i think if they were longer in the front and back you wouldn't even need the rocker piece.

The rear wouldn't be too bad, but the front would remain an issue. You would also have some holes that are susceptible to rust. I would not recommend going that route. just my 2 cents.

We'll just have to see, I think if i did the longer idea + spraying all the spots and area under with underbody/bedliner spray i'd be fine. Thanks for the info and pics. No salt on our roads but maybe 2 times a year.

I say go for what you want but don't trash your rockers. If you find out you don't like how it looks you should be able to cut them to fit.

Yep, I may end up just doing that too. I've thought of trimming and then using some of the door edge soft molding and glue and using that to cover the cut area. Idea's is what I do - 6 years in automotive parts / service, and now 5 years in Oil & Gas Operations Engineering as a Engineering Technician.

My luck after my twins get here my life will just be over all together.

Oh trust me i'm happy about it, 2 years and after 4 IUI and 3 IVF cycles this better be the best damn part of my life. Honestly I'm pretty pumped.

I told my wife I'll not lift the 4Runner until I wear out my stock tires, that should give me around 2 years of stock suspension (we'll see what really happens), but i'm still doing some of the interior stuff and tint.

Happy to hear it bud. Now, I understand the lift, but those dam OEM tires, well, with the twins now comming, I would stronly suggest stiffer sidewalled tires, just my 2 cents worth. Good luck my friend.
