TE Stereo iPod questions

Hi everybody,

First post here....

I just purchased a new TE with the 8-speaker stereo with iPod/USB hookups. I love the fact that I can play my iPod hard-wired into the stereo. However, I have noticed a few "issues" with the user interface on the stereo unit (this is not the touch screen version...)

1. When navigating on the iPod to a particular artist, I have to just keep rolling the right knob until I find the artist. There is no way to skip to a particular letter of the alphabet. This is extremely cumbersome because the unit is slow to receive data from the iPod, so I have to pause to see where I am in the alphabet and then continue. Is there a way around this?
2. When changing artists/albums/etc., the stereo keeps trying to play whatever artist/album/etc. pops up on the display, even though you are still changing it. Is there any way to have it play the last song you were listening to until you select the new song?
3. Once I select the song I want to hear, I cannot find anyway to browse up one level (to the album level) if I want to change to a different album by that same artist. I have to START OVER from the beginning of the alphabet and search for that artist all over again - ugh! Does anyone know a way around this?

Overall I love this truck!
thanks in advance

nope, there is no way around it...its very awkward.

You're better off putting your music on a USB stick, put it into RANDOM mode and just listen away...

Hopefully this will help others...
Regarding #3 above, if you navigate to a particular artist, then scroll to the album you want to listen to, do not tap the tuning knob (to enter that album). This will keep the display on the album level. You won't be able to see the underlying song titles, BUT if you want to switch to a different album by that artist or switch to a different artist altogether, you can by hitting the back curved arrow. You can still switch songs within the album by hitting the scan button.

I just bought a Limited with touch screen. I have the same issue and it drives me crazy. I open up my playlist which has 20 songs for example. The screen displays 6 at a time. If I touch the scroll button to display songs 7-12, song 7 (top of the list) will be highlighted and start playing. So essentially you can't listen to a song and scroll through your song list because each page changes your song to the one at the top of the list.

You are better off using the aux stereo plug. I listen to audiobooks on my ipod/iphone and every time I turn the car off or switch to fm and back it either starts about 20 minutes to where I left off or goes to the very begining. Very annoying. I am getting a new stereo very shortly...
