My first car was a Ford Taurus (1991)... but I would NOT get a kid any sort of Honda or Acura (too trendy and "sticky finger magnets")... I would stick with what YOU know as a parent, so I would recommend a Toyota.. however, I like the guy who recommended the 2 seater pickup. No joyriding around with friends. Just enough to take a girl to the prom.. wait a minute - what sex is this child??

You could ask him/her if they want to indulge in "Daddy's" hobbies and get him a Toyota 4x4 and work on it with him... could make for some good bonding time..

just buy her a 1969 chevelle, that was my first car and oh boy good times good times!!!
