Tell Me What This Is?

My parents just recently picked up a 2002 Lexus LS430 and it came with this installed. I know it has to do with hands-free systems cause of the microphone. Or am I wrong? I just want to find out the company and how I can get it to work.

I can't tell much about the object from your photo. What does it look like from outside teh car? The simplest way to determine if it's a bluetooth setup is to turn the car to ACC/ON and then tell your phone to search for available devices. If it's a bluetooth module, it will likely identify itself to your phone by vendor and model while asking for the PIN code (usually either 0000 or 1234). This should get you the necessary info to track down manuals via the web.

Well the problem is I already tried to pair my phone with the system and the system doesn't show up on the phone. And you can't see the system from the outside.

I'll try using somebody else's phone tomorrow...

If it's not for a bluetooth device then it's likely a glass break sensor for the alarm system...i think.

I don't think that's what it is. Nobody breaks a windshield to get into a car and there is also a microphone.

is there an aftermarket stereo in the car? if so, search the menu and see if it has built in bluetooth. look under the hood for anything mysterious, also, look in the center console to see if there is something that you could plug into your cell phone's earplug. the mic makes me think it's bluetooth, however I have never seen that emblem on bluetooth devices, could be a wireless signal booster, maybe a satellite stereo antenna???? need more info, have you tried the dealer to see if they have seen it/offer it. maybe your local stereo shop?
