I like to listen to the radio when I work on the car. Often this involves having the driver's door open. Of course if the key is in and the door is open, the car will chime annoyingly.
While working on another mod, I had had enough of the noise and figured I'd just pull the door switch and bypass or disconnected it. Turns out all you really have to do is pull the bolt holding the switch - which must be part of the ground circuit. Once the bolt is out, the chime stops. Made my day and thought I'd share.
Steps
1. Block 30 seconds of time.
2. Pull up the bottom of the rubber boot protecting the switch and bolt.
3. Remove bolt.
4. Enjoy the radio.
