Testing snorkel re-seal :D

So I did a snorkel flush and re-seal the other day and thought the best way to work out if it was sealed up right was to try 'er out :bluejump: Although this is probably not the deepest water a 4th gen has seen, it was more than enough for me. To be honest, I wasn't really out there to find water, but water seemed to be a reoccurring theme on this particular trail haha. There are only one or two pictures, the rest are videos. All shot on an iPhone, except for the flush ones, those were on my regular phone. Would have taken more pics/vids, but my camera is packed up for moving right now :(

Anyway here's a picture and a video of the snorkel flush in progress:

And here we are going through the puddles in the trail:

My buddy wanted to have a go at that particular one:

And this is for all you guys out west to make fun of me for. This is probably the most off-camber (not really even worth of the title) you'll find in south florida LOL:

Ready for Moab now right? :roadkill: I know, I know..... So Gay

This video here refuses to upload right. It plays fine on my computer, but no matter which way I flip it, it comes out sideways. Here you go if you don't mind turning your head....or your monitor:

And a couple of pictures. First one is my 4Runner. Second is my 4Runner with one of my my neighbor's jeep (wire came loose for the other yellow fog...don't judge me):

As always, there was some carnage. Pipe got a little smashed and bent, no big deal, I think i'll just try to bend it back and re-hang it on the hangar.

The other thing is I went in some really really deep water (not in any of the vids) and the water made it inside the truck and was kind enough to fry the brain box to my flip out screen. It was under the passenger seat. MSRP was $2500. Not going to be replacing with anything that wonderful anytime soon :( Anyone got a radio they don't want?

It was a fun day. Just a little bitter about the nav. But whose fault is it, eh?

Shit, you got water in the truck under the passenger seat? That was some deep stuff. I have gotten water in my trunk once, but just a 6inch or so spot. That sucks, what NAV are you running that is $2500 that seems completely ridiculous and out of the question considering that you can pick up a Garmin that probably has more stuff in it for $150. Good luck with everything though, looks like you had a lot of fun.

Pictures look great.

Your 4runner is very interesting.

Thanks!

Ya it stinks. I knew I shouldn't have crossed that part (especially without taking a video/picture), but hey, you live you learn right? It was a Kenwood KVT817-DVD + all the addons (sat/nav/backup/etc). It was $2500 MSRP plus like $100-300 for each addon. in 2005 when it first came out. It's one of the Excelon models, which is why the price tag. Very advanced, luckily, I didn't buy it, it came with the truck. I'm sad to see it go though. I haven't yet bought a replacement. Still deciding what I want to do since I have a few Garmins/TomToms lying around. Probably just going to buy a good CD/iPod deck. I will miss the cam though, since I used it as a rearview as well.

Definitely was fun. Hope to get out more often, but I just don't see it with school starting up again. I took a drive to Alabama today in my buddies truck to pick up some stuff for him and it looks like there could be some fun trails to ride out there. Hopefully I'll be able to do that in the near future.
