Ok, I bought my 05' V8 w/ 108k miles used and all I knew was the timing belt was done at 90k miles. I have since found that the brake pads are brand new, rotors are smooth as silk and prolly new, Toyota did the last oil change (filter was on waaayyy to tight and was Toyota brand) and other service (so I would guess the previous owner was regular w/ oil changes), and today I checked the rear diff fluid just out of curiosity and it was so clean and clear I almost though it was empty! Looks like I lucked out and this one was taken good care of. Thanks to that person in Springfield MO! I was gonna look into the transmission fluid, but since it's sealed and the original plug was in the reciever hitch, I'm not gonna worry with it.

Glad you lucked out.
I wasn't as lucky, my 4R was abused, mostly cosmetic scratches and little dings here and there. The previous owner did not take care of her at all. Took me a while to bring her back to her finest.....

Congrats on the purchase. Yeah every now and again you find a good deal out there on a used car. Some people are very up to date with vehicle maintenance and take care of their cars. Other just drive it until something is broken. Glad to hear you found one that looks like it was well cared for.

I am glad you feel lucky and happy you are pleased with your purchase and I know there are plenty of cars out there that have not been cared for but I think it is the exact opposite as far as the norm. I think it is by far the norm for people to reg change fluids and take care of their cars/suvs . Especially T4R because these are pretty expensive vehicles and people who buy them new or late model pre-owned spend a bunch of money on them and Toyota/Honda/Lexus etc has been drilling into 2 people for decades that if you just do your services it just won't break on you and for the most part they don't. I think the vast majority of them are good and cared for. I am not sure it is luck to get a good one most of them are but I am glad you got a good one because we seem to hear a ton about the bad ones. At the 90k they prob just got done w/ second set of brakes so thats lucky timing wise. Enjoy
