I'm moving back to Africa for my job. Last time I was in West Africa 4 years ago I had a '95 4Runner SR5, and it was AWESOME! The road to my house had a 1 foot vertical drop, and that truck went up and down it twice a day (at least) every day for 2 years, and the only damage I ever had was busting the track holding up the back window. This time I want to make sure I get the best model possible because I'll have my 1 year old daughter with me, so breaking down in the jungle is NOT an option. I really really appreciate the information on this site regarding the different features on the gen 3's (among those of us who take 4Runners to Africa, the gen 3's are the most popular- a bit simpler, so fewer things to break). Hopefully I'll have a new, reliable beauty soon!
