I'm just not a fan of Fox News and it seems like a blog site for them, that's all. I'm waiting for the next person to question whether he's a natural-born citizen... any takers?

"When you call the Iraqi war a mistake, you disrespect the service and the sacrifice of everyone who has died promoting freedom."

I'm not sure where this attitude came from, but to me this is a very, very dangerous line of thought. I am eternally supportive of the people who choose to serve our country in any capacity, especially soldiers on the front lines of the world helping to keep our country safe. But that doesn't mean I have to agree with why they're there in the first place. The guy in the video talks about how we brought "freedom" to the Iraqi people, which is very true. But that's not why we went. The Iraq Resolution had 10 distinct points, and only one (the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998) dealt with anything even resembling the subject of the video. So to say that liberating Iraq from tyranny made the Iraq war a success is akin to saying that a car model is better than its predecessor because of improved cupholders. It's not even remotely close in terms of scale or importance, but the logic is the same.

If we truly want to free the oppressed citizens of every country led by a tyrant, we better draft every man and woman in the US into the armed forces and start mounting .50 cals on our 4Rs.

So what you're looking for is some more misdirection?

Here's one for ya, Bush fires a U.S. attorney, legal, and Obama and his cronies go apeshit calling for impeachment. Obama fires an IG, illegal, specifically breaking a law he co-sponsored, and you could hear a pin drop it's so quiet.

Here's a link, OMG it's not Fox, it's abc so you can believe it. :lmao:

president obama fires controversial inspector general

So please, spin this so I can understand how someone that sponsored a law, would be the first one to break it to protect his friend

I'm going to guess you feel that any site that doesn't grovel at the one's feet is part of the Fox conspiracy, isn't that a conspiracy in itself?

What he did wasn't illegal, and he didn't break the law. Here's the part of the bill dealing with this issue:

Establishments.--Section 3(b) of the Inspector General Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking the second sentence and inserting "If an Inspector General is removed from office or is transferred to another position or location within an establishment, the President shall communicate in writing the reasons for any such removal or transfer to both Houses of Congress, not later than 30 days before the removal or transfer. <b>Nothing in this subsection shall prohibit a personnel action otherwise authorized by law, other than transfer or removal</b>.".

Removal in this case is the actual firing of the IG, which happened 30 days after he was suspended. Suspension, especially with pay, does not constitute a removal from office and so this law does not address that action in any way (<b>bold</b> above) only his firing. So by suspending him immediately with pay, notifying the proper people and telling him he'd be fired in 30 days, the administration did not violate the law.

Soooooo are you Shawn Hannity or Glenn Black?... maybe O'Reilly? Look, read what you want to read and listen to what you wanna listen to. Truth is it doesn't matter what administration we're under or who has control of Congress, we only ever get an ounce of truth out of the Government. Any point that's made against Obama can be matched with a point against Bush or Clinton, Reagan, Ford...

And if McCain had won you could go to a Prius forum and read people spouting off about McCain and all the half truths about Republicans.

I'm not here to defend Obama, but don't read an opinion article and and come here and talk like you're a member of Congress.

FYI, I voted for Bush so I'm not trying to attack or defend him either.

Theothertyler... good use of fact!

And Bush didn't break the law either with the attorney firings, yet dems were going nuts calling it an impeachable offense, you don't see anything wrong with that?

So you're saying that he used a loophole in a law he sponsored, that goes against the actual intent of the law, to stop an investigation on a friend.

Someone might use something like that with other bills they sponsored to get what they want, something like the healthcare/obamacare/kennedycare bill, or Internet emergency bill wordings. They would say things like, "yes, it could be interpeted that way, but that is not the intent!" But then use the exact wording that they purposefully put in to circumvent that law, like obama did.
:hunter: lawyers

No wonder his pol numbers are dropping like a rock.

Damn, I hope you're not part of the white house snitch brigade!

Soooooo are you Shawn Hannity or Glenn Black?... maybe O'Reilly?

Soooooo are you Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews?....If you're feel a thrill running up your leg when you see Obama, you would be Chris!

:whipping2 Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Wow I missed the whole part about Bush in my first post, have to go back and re-read what I wrote. I said nothing of the intent of the law, nor did I ever address the Bush firings. But again, even if you try to referee and make it a fair fight, in this forum it makes you an Obama fanboy.

On the face of it, this seems like at worst an error in judgment and/or a political misstep. For now, there's no evidence that any official documents were destroyed, or that Obama administration officials used personal email addresses to conduct official business outside the public record, or that an entire strategy was/is in place to replace this person with an Obama ally as a political appointment (which would be in violation of the law Obama co-sponsored as a senator). These were all present in the Bush firings, so to argue that the two are equivalent at this point is ridiculous. If news comes out about the Obama administration doing any of these things then I'll be first in line demanding an explanation.

First, let me say very classy with the whipping. Easier to disregard your opinion all together. I know none of this has to do with your political affiliation, your just a typical racist.

Second, if I saw Obama my first thought would most likely be "How the hell did I get in D.C." My second thought would be, "How can I get tickets to a Georgetown game?"
