That feeling you get when driving your 4runner.

I saw this on another forum i lurk and figured i would post it here.

Explain what you feel when your driving your runner, why you love it like you do if you may.

Me personally, i feel like im behind the wheel of a vehicle built for not only a satisfactory ride quality, but knowing that if need be i can crawl down some back roads or rocky roads and still have the comfort, and reliability of a Toyota.

Some who ride in my truck refer to it as a safari vehicle feel.

I like mine, it's a pretty normal vehicle, utilitarian with luxuries, i like kicking the @ss out on it, its a tight little truck to truck around, fun in the corners, and it good at hauling, its a good all rounder, its special cause its mine.
 
I get the feeling that I might get some pink milk any second. Just ordered a koyo to prevent this. Anyways I just picked mine up last week. So far ba da ba ba ba I'm lovin it"
 
I feel locked-in solid. It's a great feel to have the hefty power, combined with some refinement, and the knowledge I can go just about anywhere--city or country. I find it better downtown than a car--with all the curbs, asphalt and concrete, and I don't need to think twice about going into the country.
 
sounds stupid, but i like the sound of the engine fan roaring to life every time i turn the key. it sounds loud and powerful.

oh, and i also like the fact that i traded a Pilot in for it and no longer have the problems with my T4R as I did with my Pilot. That is priceless.

All of the replies so far are exactly what I feel. Also silly, I love the way the starter sounds, sounds like a big engined truck.......... anyway, I've wanted a 4Runner since I was 16 years old. This is my "first" 4Runner. I love every second I drive it. I especially like having all the windows down and sunroof open. I had a Grand Cherokee, so yeah, having a reliable truck is HUGE! Even if I were to win the lottery one day, I'll still have a 4Runner (or GX) :cool:

I'm NEVER going back to Jeep. NEVER.
 
Sunday's are usually my only day off, so thats my time to get up, jump in the T4R, and do my running around for the week. Just an easy Sunday stroll, and I know it will take me anywhere I want to go (ie the grocery store, or a quick run out to a local beach, or if its winter and theres snow on the ground just a cruise through the local unplowed areas where no one else has gone yet), all with the comfort of a single push button feature on practically everything in my truck.

I also know that if the SHTF and society breaks down and goes into apocalypse mode, I can hop in my T4R, throw it in 4WD, crank up some Rage, and begin to implement my advanced looting strategy. First stop, the gun shop. Followed by the gas station, the liquor store and the local pharmacy, all in preparation for the oncoming zombie takeover :sniper:

Another thing i realized that i love about my truck is, even though its a 6 cylinder, and its pretty underpowered. When going through drive through and you give it a nice little punch on the pedal, the sound that it produces it just MEAN. You can really hear the sound reflecting off the wall.

Also, i noticed after taking my truck on the highway more than usual lately, when you get on the pedal , and have to let off the gas quick, the engine braking sounds F****** amazing to. Especially for a totally stock exhaust system!
 
It has such a free feeling about it. My previous vehicle was a MKV VW GTI. I felt so tied to the pavement with that car because of the minimal ground clearance. With my 4Runner, I feel like I can go where I want. Ready for every occasion, if you will.
 
I recently returned from 1500 mile round trip vacation where we took my Fiance's 08 Hyundai Santa Fe, which is a really nice car.. I tried not to think about the 4runner much while gone, but once we returned I couldnt help it. As soon as I step foot in the 4runner I fell in love with it all over again. Yea i hate paying so much for gas all the time, but its worth driving something I love.
 
I loved my '99 Tacoma, the way it looked as I walked up to it, the V6 roaring to life, sound of the exhaust. Now I have the same feeling, only the leather interior, sunroof and four doors make the whole love (LOL) affair with my '02 4Runner doubly nice!

Go anywhere, do anthing anytime. There can't possibly be a better all around vehicle out there? Even though gas is a killer...I never hesitate to drive.
 
Because nothing looks cooler or feels better.

I love mine because it enables me to do all of the outdoor activities I enjoy. Since I usually go solo on my adventures, it's great to know that it will get me there and back reliably.
 
I love the sound of the turbo diesel rumbling to life, and the beeping of the reverse indicator, the whistle of the turbo, and the feeling of having all the windows down, sunroof open, sun shining. It doens't feel 15 years old, that's for sure.

i just feel happy, i treat my truck like a person, with respect and so far my truck has not let me down. also the windows all down winds blowing through your hair parts doesnt suck either, did i mention i have a factory locker and only paid 4500 for my limited edition truck with 140k lol

I'd say it feels pretty good...some tunes on radio, sunroof open, windows down including the back one ;), v8 roaring...feels great, doesn't smell to good but it feels great lol
