The 1" leveling kit wheel and tire thread

Like the post says if you only did the 1" leveling kit on your 4th gen please post what kit you used and what tires and wheels you are running if anything besides stock. I have a 2004 Sport that has the XREAS and the system is in great shape. My runner will not be getting offloaded but will be used to transport my wife and son around in. I am 6'4" and would not mind a bigger lift kit but I want it to be easier for them to get in the runner hence the leveling kit. I am thinking of going a 1" leveling kit and installing 265/70/17 tires but wanted to see some pictures and feedback from folks. I read through the lift and tire thread but it was all mostly fj coils or lifts over 2" which is not practical for me. This thread is designed for people who have the leveling kit installed only on the front end! I did use the search button but nothing came up for what I am looking for

I like it.... its temporary until I get my Bilsteins and coils in. It fits the need for now. Looks a lot better than stock for sure.

I agree, it does look better in person. Mine looks much different than stock now. Kinda looks like the way Toyota should have built them in the first place.

Funny your wheels are the same as the ones I want to put on my runner. It is an 04 though. I agree, it looks better in person. I have a friend who has the leveling kit and it looks much better in person. Would you happen to know what offset those fj wheels are? I was told the fj wheels have a different offset than the 4runner wheels.

I believe they are about 15 mm difference if I recall. Side note, I still have a budget boost new in box I never used if you are interested. I can sell cheaper than new. Shoot me a message.

Something like that, but it's a difference in your favor. I added the 1.25" spidertrax to get even wider and I wish I would have got the 1.5" so there's plenty of room.

So as the op on this thread, I figured it was about time that I posted my rig with the 1" leveling kit. I also just installed these new wheels and tires today as well. LT 265/70/17 Goodyear duratracks with new 2014 4runner wheels powder coated semi gloss black. I think it looks pretty good, just need to do some trimming/moving of the inner fender liner, rubs ever so slightly on the left front if the wheel is cocked all the way to the right when backing up.



You guys think I should run the center cap or not??

Old thread, but it was helpful in my tire search so I wanted to post a few pictures.

I just got a set of 265/70r17 General Grabber AT2s on my 2008 and I love them so far. Good on road manners and the little bit of gravel/dirt road driving I've done they handled perfectly.

There was a bit of rubbing on the fender liner initially (even with the 1" daystar leveling kit) so I had to do a bit of trimming/re-locating. I haven't had them long enough to notice any decrease in mpg, but I got the P rated tire which was only about 1.5 lbs heavier than the stock Dunlops so I am hoping any decrease will be minimal. There is also an "LT" rated tire that is quite a bit heavier, but I don't tow or have the excess weight of bumpers, roof rack etc. so I think the P will be just fine.

The tires are exceptionally quiet both in town and on the highway. Maybe a bit louder than stock, but not much.

Great tire, great price and they look great.
