Great thread. Helped a lot when I was deciding what wheels to purchase.
Finally able to contribute to this thread. I've been on the hunt for these wheels for a while and I finally found a smoking deal on a brand new set of these from TRDshop.com.
Needless to say I'm loving the updated look, and have been getting a lot of people asking me about my set up. Enjoy guys!

That looks great, tire size/lift?
You should be able to fit most TRD wheels, the only issue is the tire size. I know on my 07, on stock suspension I couldn't run spacers with my 265/70/17. Without spacers you should be ok, worst case is you'll have to trim part of the front wheel liner or move it forward.
Tire size and lift looks very good. I may do the same size, I don't know if 275-70-17 is worth it... jut makes the tire heavier/wider, which may not really do anything except aesthetics

How do you like those tires? They look good. Road noise level? I'll need tires in the spring, my SR5 is a DD and I don't do off roading.

I don't notice any extra road noise at all. I make regular drives from northern CA to southern CA and the wife and I are perfectly comfortable. If anything there is some wind noise from the rack and LED bar. I've had them on for over a year and the tread is still looking great after quite a few off road trips. I DD my 4Runner as well, and the only thing I've noticed is the MPG has gone down since the tires are heavier than stock.

Sweet setup and looks like TRDshop still has them for a great price. Do you mind me asking what area of N Calif you're from and/or the shop that sold and mounted your tires for you? Are most shops cool about bringing in your own wheels?
I just bought a white 2017 and almost got wheels and tires at dealership but then thought I could do better on my own. But I love these TRD wheels.

I live in Stockton. I got them mounted at a buddy's shop, but most places are cool with you bringing your own wheels and tires to mount and balance. I can't imagine them having a problem with it. Cost me about $85 to have them mounted and balanced and another $60 for alignment.
Cool, thanks! I'm in San Jose and as you could imagine there are a ton of wheel and tire shops in the area so looking to find one that I could trust to give me good advice on how to set my 4Runner up for me!

So is it true that the black version of these wheels has gone into "replacement only" availability and the only option is the matte gray finished wheel?
I saw several sets on Ebay, but it looks like they're all some kind of knock-off (that I'd prefer to avoid).
I was going to get our 18" Limited wheels refinished (the standard paint flaking issue ...) but I'd also like to run a wider tire, so looking at something in a 17x8.

You mean the black finish, right? I thought the matte gray were readily available (and it's only the black finish that comes factory on TRD special models that are constrained).

I couldnt even order the matt black ones, so I am talking about the matt gray ones now are the samething, dealer told me they are instock, just have to provide vin# and get approval from TOYOTA to release it. So I gave them my 4th gen vin#, we will find out tomorrow.
