The Barn Door?

barn door works great! no complaints. to each his own. easier to open in garage vs hitting ceiling. minor nuissances if someone behind you, but how often does that happen.

If you are parallel parked, it sucks. Also, when its raining, a regular hatch provides some protection.

You must have some low ceiling!! :wow2:

ceiling height in garage is bout 9 or 10 feet. how low did you think i had?
problem is though, when garage door open, you wouldnt be able to open a hatch type door. barn door opens no issue.

I agree. When there's heavy rain or hail (God forbid) the I wish the hatch were a top hinge rather than a side-hinge. Other than those few instances, it's great. My wife and I put our two Danes in the back of ours all the time and having the barn door style keeps them from trying to jump in too soon (and smack their nuggets) on the door before it's completely open (like they have done with our 4Runner in times past).

Each door has its pros and cons. The barn door is much easier the open and close (Especially for my 5'3" wife). The lift gate is better for bad weather, but try closing it with one hand. Now if the lift gate was powered there would be no comparison.

I have found that I like the barn door much better.

It much easier to use than the liftgate. Like KOZ said, if the liftgate was powered, no comparison.

Don't have any problems with my 4Runner in the garage- have plenty of clearance. The barnyard door is terrible for parallel parking in NYC. I take the GX to Brooklyn sometimes and can't use my cargo area. I prefer the rear window rolling down or the liftgate with power open/close :D

I found the barn door odd at first but eventually got use to it over time. Sometimes I wished the door was hinged on the other side.

One thing i miss from the 4r is being able to open and close the window to the hatch...wish they would do that on the gx.

Your stupid!

:wow2:

somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
