The best off-road ditch light kit?

LASFIT sent us this ditch light kit for the 2014-2022 4Runner. For the price this kit includes everything, to include the low profile hood brackets. I was really impressed by the quality of all components and for $189.99 for the sport kit and $309.99 for the HP (high performance) kit, it really is hard to find a better deal, in terms of both quality and performance, especially at this price point. Just wanted to drop the video link here. If you haven’t already please subscribe to the channel as many more install video’s, upgrades, and general content on our channels 4Runner will be coming soon. Let me know what you guys think? I am hoping to put these up against some other competitors out there for an unbiased comparison video.

My goal is to be honest in all my videos, and having run Baja Designs exclusively on my Raptor, I can honestly report that these are very good lights.

Dude how can we take your “honest review” seriously you were essentially paid by Lasfit to promote their cheap knockoff lights which they are charging too much for. In the lighting world you get what you pay for. Fine for off-road cosplay but for folks who need good lighting to drive off-road at night I’ll invest in solutions that give me the best in lighting.

Agreed. This forum is to be helpful and to give feedback. Most of the forum users are great, but, there is a handful of members that give partial to complete impertinent responses.

Paid, yeah definitely not paid. But I have no problem fully disclosing that these were sent to me to try out. If you don’t want to take my review “seriously”, not much I can do about that.

I was sent a product to review and that’s exactly what I did, I won’t make a single penny off of it and I like to keep it that way so I can remain unbiased. I will also be updating this thread if these have any issues, because again like I stated, my goal is to help the 4Runner community make informed decisions on aftermarket options.

Here is a question for you, why don’t you reach out to LASFIT to test them out for yourself?, they are always looking for people to give HONEST reviews. I’m not turning this into an argument but you make some pretty bold statements for what I am assuming is someone who has never tried them. I have had serious off-road lighting setups on my Raptor (Baja Designs) so I can judge these with a history of non “cosplay” lighting.

As I stated,I will be having more videos to come where I will be doing direct comparisons between these and other lighting options as I am not tied to one brand. Thanks for taking the time to respond and maybe you could now let us know what you run and why!

I agree, not everyone can afford super expensive lighting setups. I know how expensive it can get as I had easily $2k+ in just lighting on my raptor.

To be able to pick up a complete kit for $189.99 and have everything you need to get you started is pretty good. I think the warranty could be better, which I state in the video.

I get why people respond how they do and the get what you pay for mentality as it is often true. I just don’t see how you can write something off you have never touched or used.

Diode Dynamics is on my list to review. Was going to do a faceoff of the SS3 pods and these but also want to check out their fog kit and see how it compares to some of the cheaper LED options on light output.

Personally, I didn’t want ditch lights on the back of my hood of my daily driver. I just don’t like the look. I put Baja Design Squadron Pros(yellow, driving combo) in my foglamp location. I love the clean look and performance. I also retained the use of my factory foglamp switch.

The best best off-road ditch light kit is the one that fits your needs. But some definitely put more into there lights no matter ones preference.

That’s why the question mark is there. From an initial impression standpoint, the LASFIT sport series is around $180 cheaper than the BD sport kit with the cali raised brackets. For some people that costs savings is a big deal.

I won’t for a second disagree that BD makes some of the best lighting around. I will also give credit where it is due and say that as of now these are an excellent option also. Can that opinion change, of course, as it takes time for any new product to prove itself. But I touch on the warranty in the video and how LASFIT should increase that warranty because it creates confidence in the buyer that the product will last. Clearly BD offers lifetime as well as some of the other big names where as LASFIT is 3 years.

That is a well done comparison. I am hoping as my channel grows that I can do more comparisons like this. I wish I could drop money on a few sets and do a shootout like this.

I just dropped a lot of money on an exhaust for my F150 for a video/review. I am hoping to make my next video a LASFIT vs Diode Dynamics. I am trying to get my buddy to send me an extra set of his BDs to throw in the mix.

There is a difference between sponsorship and being sent products for testing and review. I like the latter as there is no expectation that I have to try to “sell” a product to my viewers. I would never want to build a platform based on lies and just hyping up products. I have told the companies I have worked with that I need 100% freedom in what I say or else I won’t even consider working with them.

Man that is some attention to detail and a great write up. I wish I had all the equipment and time to do that type of testing. Makes me look even more forward to checking out Diode Dynamics!

my lasfit driving optics are better than the Baja designs SAE optics. :shrug:

now, my baja designs XL pro's are ridiculously bright and totally wash out the lasfits.

i highly doubt that he is as independent and objective as you claim.


I run DD and lasfit products on my vehicle and they perform so similar and are constructed so similarly, that you can't go wrong with either companies products. Where I have a problem with DD is their fanboys making BS claims, and they love to use that TW thread to back up their BS.



Again, everything depends on your own budgets and needs.
