The best off-road ditch light kit?

the duty up to canada is ridiculous. shipping, FX and then duty really makes things expensive. I always try amazon if I can. overland outfitters and greenlane are my go to's if I'm looking for something that doesn't have to cross borders. I got hammered on a rago tray I bought directly from rago but I had no other choice. the lab testing is important, that's what I look for too. you say your light is waterproof, well let's see about that. but the flip side is well I just paid hundreds for these lights, I'll believe baja that they are waterproof and will survive being buried in snow during the winter.

now if I had a successful youtube channel that could finance these purchases I'd 100% do it. but I don't see many people testing their $500 baja lights lol. many of the videos and reviews are installs and instructionals and some long term use updates. which is fine for most people but if you're up in the slush and snow and road salt, seeing durability testing would be helpful

many companies won't authorize a review unless they can edit the script first, negative reviews, not allowed, contracts galore. people will be skeptical because of all the BS out there and as they should be, everyone is hustling trying to make it in this ridiculous world. Keep grinding and putting out good content

I also have more respect for LASFIT for the reason you just mentioned. Literally they had zero input, never asked to see anything ahead of time to try to influence it and actually thanked me for being honest. They were receptive to my comments on the warranty length compared to BD and Rigid, and said that they would be discussing it with the higher ups. This at least to me shows that not only do they want the feedback but that they also are using it to make their products better. To me that speaks to the fact that they want honest feedback.

My father was born and grew up in Toronto. On Indian Grove near Dundas. Served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during the war. His brother was with the 48th highlanders and started in full combat on Anzio in ‘43. I have cousins who live in Missasauga, Scarborough and north of Toronto. I have not been back since the 80’s.

It looks like mine is the GEN2 stuff, apparently better magnets. I am so glad I got the armour...after I put a 4x4 through the side back quarter...lol

thank you to your father for his service. maybe your father and my grandfather crossed paths near Anzio lol. he fought for Italy around that time. there's actually a huge cemetary north of the city that has a large section dedicated to WWI and WWII veterans. there's old military equipment on display there as well, just a couple pieces. I've put on hundreds of miles through that cemetary with my dog when I lived in Toronto

You really don't have to keep justifying yourself. What you did is perfectly fine and appreciated by most. Some people just like to get REALLY into lighting discussions on here because they think everybody "needs" the most expensive stuff. Top of the line LED lighting is borderline unaffordable and the "cheap" stuff is starting to get actually pretty good.

Every lighting thread turns out this way, especially with LASFIT involved. I'm actually kind of proud of them for sticking around in a very saturated lighting market with a high end clientele.

But Lasfit doesn't have any and can't (or won't) give a projected availability date. I get the sense they aren't going to offer them anymore. Any insights here? Tks

FYI, its cheaper to buy direct from them and easier to get warranted if there is any issues. I had to deal with a warrantee claim and it was pretty much hassle free.

Nah, DD fanboys like to spend hours shining lights against their garage walls so they can impress random strangers on the internet with their infinite wisdom they gained by staring at garage walls.

When I was on their website yesterday and texting with their sales person, the 3" LED pods were not available and they had nothing to say about when they might be available. I got the distinct impression they aren't interested. Lost me as a customer.
