The Black 2015 TE Pics and Build

Hi all.

I signed up because my brother finally bought himself a brand new vehicle and he looks to me for advice on anything mechanical. I'm finding lots of great info on this forum.

Anyway, he wanted a 4Runner and it had to be black with a hood scoop. Toyota Canada doesn't offer many choices in the T4R, so the hood scoop comes with the full Trail Edition package including KDSS and NAV. Personally I'd love to throw my bag of recovery gear in the back and play winch b**** for a day to see what all the buttons and knobs can do, but it will be a while before it sees any dirt.

But enough talk, here's some pics...

For this market, Dealer installed Block Heater is a mandatory option. Gotta say, this is slick. I think I'll try to rig something like it up for my block heater.

Second Mod
Toyota Hood Deflector. Gotta protect against road sand in the winter and bugs in the summer. Looks great on a black T4R

I'll post more pics once the wheels, tires, and rock sliders go on.

I do wish my 2010 had a similar block heater connection. Nice looking truck, but what's with all the snow up there? I think we hit 15*C today :biggrin2:

You may have had +15 C, but I'll bet the wind was blowing at 70+ kph.
And all we got in the last 24 hours was freezing rain, more snow, and then sunshine this aft. Gotta love the weather in Alberta!

The handle is legit. I've done the 500 many Novembers and Mays. Even worked at the Inn for a Winter. It dates back to the early Hotmail days, and helps keep me feeling young.

In Canada you can get the block heater.. Not in the states! well through my dealer.. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. 150 miles away from the border of Ontario Canada.. I was told that Canada has the heater and people in the states don't need it.. AHHH... I don't think so!!.. As I wake up today with a temp of -15 and a wind chill of -30.... :tsk:

That's like saying Canada doesn't need Air Conditioning. But not surprising given the rules stated on the Toyota Canada site...

"Block heater is automatically applied as a standard equipment to the vehicles purchased in the Prairie provinces. Dealers who are located geographically outside of the Prairie provinces but their trade areas are within the boundary of these provinces, block heater is NOT automatically added to the vehicle price. If you intend to purchase your vehicle from the following dealers, it is required that Block Heater be manually added when you configure your vehicle. These dealers are: Peace Country Toyota (Dawson Creek, British Columbia), Alpine Toyota (Cranbrook, British Columbia), Bayview Toyota (Kenora, Ontario) and Mic Mac Motors (Whitehorse, Yukon). "

So it's optional in the Yukon?!?
