I owned a 2003 Runner but traded for a 2007 because i wanted 4WD -- unfortunately for my taste the 07's come with chrome colored grills so i blacked it out...

Nice. The only thing is that wet paint is not durable (though the chrome tends to get pitted too). it's too bad that plastic cannot be powdercoated safely.

Another option would be a color matched one, I think it would look better than the blacked out one, JMO though.

i actually like the trucks with the chrome grille, handles, and rear tailgate thing, especially black trucks then when they are built you can go with kinda old school crome rims and look totally bad ass. JMO though

Eh. I painted mine with rustoleum about 9mos ago, and my trucks been through car washes, cross country driving, hail storms, and the black stiall hasn't started chipping.

To be honest I used a multitude of paints until I found a black I liked. I put a coat of the krylon plastic flat black on mine as a primer and then I just used the regular rustoleum flat black enamel. I tried some bbq black, but that was just too flat for me. I did sand down the grill first.

I like the black. If you blacked out the headlights too it would really pop. Get some tint on there and it'll be good to go.

Perfect Match by Dupli-Color makes it. You can buy it at Advance Auto parts. It's specific to our Titanium Metalic color code (1D4). The product number to ask for is BTY1615. They carry a few different Toyota silvers in-store but not 1D4. You'll have to order it and pick it up a few days later.

I'm over the blacked out thing. Living in Vegas and close to LA, it's played out. Prolly why I'm not a fan of the black front. Color matched is good.

I've seen a couple BMWs running arond, one white out and one if you can picture this marooned out. (he's a customer of mine). They both look VERY nice. I have to say though, the white one was a show stealer. Man it was slick! It was nice to see someone go against the masses. M6 and a 750IL respectively. Made me think of Miami.

don't think that it is just in Vegas and close to Cali that the murdered out thing is overplayed; it is everywhere!

M6's are sick whited out! Are you talking about white wheels with the white m6 and the alpine white interior with blacked out windows looks hott! My mom drives a white 750il and it looks pretty good, but she is obviously not rocking aftermarket wheels haha
