The "Hidden" Glove Box Compartment

This is very delayed...but about 6 months ago, after owning my 2006 T4R for 2 years, I came across the hidden glove box compartment while detailing the interior. After 2 years, I could not believe that I never came across this. I would imagine that others on here are unfamiliar with it as well!

....or maybe I need to pay attention to more detail............heard that one before.

Anyway, pictures below, and I hope this will make somebody's day.

Haha, I don't know how long it woulda taken me to figure that one out! Luckily, I saw a reference in a thread when I was spending time researchign the 4th Gen's. Even more lucky for me, is on the way home from the dealer I pop open the "secret" compartment and find thorough mainenance records!

Yeah, sorta the same with mine. Except mine was always open, but after nearly 3 years i discovered it CLOSED! Ooooooh technology! Lol! Now if i could only figure out what this handle-like thing is on the back of the center console....

Haha, technology and engineering at it's finest! That's what I've always known it as, and I've not found any better uses so that one works for me.

It is in deed a trash bag holder right from the manual. I use grocery store bags in it but they sell specific bags for this from Toyota. I think they are also for use in the Lexus GX. It also makes a great flower holder for when i pick up some fresh flowers for my wife or family on a special occasion. It makes a great place to throw them for the trip back from the store to home with out making a mess.

The secret glove box is a nice feature. I believe some other vehicles have these also known as A gun box but i would keep a gun lock on your weapon if you did use it for that and lock the glove box it self. I am sure that a responsible gun owner would know better to begin with and would also have the proper permits and would of had to of taken classes to obtain those permits as well as paid fees.

p.s. i keep my Bible in mine it saved my life!:wink2:
