Back in the 3rd gen game!
From 2010-2015 I had a '99 SR5 that I fully built, wheeled, and loved. I'm still not fully over letting that one go.

Sold that, wanted a fun car, picked up a 07 Acura TL Type S. I loved it but I couldn't do much camping with it. Sold that within a year and picked up a 2006 Sport 4runner. It was nice being in a "newer" model with some modern features and such, but I just never clicked with it. I threw on a crappy daystar spacer kit just to cure an itch, but thats about all I did with it, it never even became a build thread.
Like most of us I'm sure, I constantly browse craigslist for 4runners. In June I came across a 2000 4runner SR5 Highlander edition in Imperial Jade Mica. A few months prior I told myself if I was to ever get back into a 3rd gen it would have to be the Highlander edition, only in IJM. Once I saw that I listed mine the next day, had it sold within 2, and picked up the Highlander at the end of the week. Now I know most people could care less about the Highlander, but its always been a unicorn of mine. This one unfortunately does not have the RR Locker and is an automatic, but I'm still thrilled with it. I've always loved that color with those features, and the Toyota nerd in me is ecstatic about owning a somewhat rarer model. There's just something special about these 3rd gens and I'm excited to get back into the swing of things with them and see where this one takes me! As of now...I'm not going to do a full out build with this. The plan is a small lift, sliders, ARB awning, and little things to make it a perfect camping/overland type of rig.

I haven't done any mods yet, still trying to wait out the "new owners problem" phase.
