Even with the bigger damage, a very clean interior and a Toyota oil service deckle on the windshield fueled my desire.
Old mans 99 right behind. For the longest time I couldn't figure out why his was an inch higher.
Then I found this place.









Pulling out the upper rad support with the Pathfinder. *Happy dance* for the frame being straight.









Love this color.







Pretty much as soon as she left the shop it was back in.

Big 3, dual battery, sound deadening, stereo, remote start.











I knew the stock stereo sucked.... but this is just pathetic.








Hatch trim panel.










Roof has 2 layers of sound deadner and some insulating foam from Homedepot.







Floor 2 layers.







1/4 panels same as roof.

what the heck is a "Toyota oil service deckle" ???
 
Filled in the hollow spaces with foam and rolled up felts.






While at Homedepot picking up more supplies, I found a cheaper alternative to the foam used for the roof and 1/2 panels.

Cousin and his Solara door.








My front doors received 6 layers of sound deadner at the front behind the speaker. Rear door only 4. And... Of course the matting.










Filled the gaps between the anti intrusion bar and door skin with urethane.







Empty space beside the brake booster was perfect for my isolator and breakers.
The thing hanging upside down is a solenoid. Allows charging of one battery at a time no to over load the alternator.

Oh don't mount the purge solenoid on its side. It starts pulsating and making lots of noise.










Yup, all these are for the runner. Every connecter is soldered on.






Pain in the ass getting the angels right in such a tight space.







Wire loomed and evap canister back in place.









2 gauge alternator wire.







Fitting the batteries was a tricky one.







The fuse box required moving back and therefore new brackets.








New bracket bolts to evap canister mount,

LOL. No, nothing that extreme. I wanted allot of cabin gain and noise insulation, also it makes sleeping in the truck allot nicer when the weathers cold. However things have changed, even with the original plan of only one baller 8'' I'm no longer willing to lose the cargo space.

Since I'm already here, I installed a power wire/fuse for the secondary battery.





Bracket to hold the batteries. Them being different sizes was fun..... not.
The wood blocks raised the batteries enough to clear the mounts for the fuse box.












No longer any room for the over flow canister. Oh well.... relocation it is.










Hose attached to cap. Perfectly ran through the rad support where the a/c lines used to be.





Now I have a perfect place for my ABS shut off relay.





Originally I was going to install a crazy stereo system. Plan was to run Amp gauges to watch the electrical system.









After realizing the metal I used was too thick and would take way too long to do the final filing, I decided to start over and make it from aluminum.









I usually opt for flat black but figured gloss would add a little "bling"


 
With the truck taking up room in the shop, my dad getting on my case and my cousin needing to be walked through every step of his stereo install.... I ran out of time.
Stock head unit and speakers went back in. It sounded better but still sucked.
I had a trip to Seattle and there was no way I was going to cross the border with a half stripped car.
Shortly after coming home hunting season started, then snow boarding season, and then a hole bunch of life stuff. I also helped my cousin finish his car since there was no way he would be able to do it alone. Didn't have time to touch the truck for over a year. :sobbing:


This was the sub going in the back.
Its a TC Sound Epic 8
Rated at 500w rms and weighs more then a 12'' type R
Ended up installing it in my cousins trunk. Super crispy and pounds like hell.









AND THE REASON I'M NOT INSTALLING SUBS ANY MORE!

This is my one man hunting set up. Every thing does not fit in the back of a 4runner... so if you shoot something there is no room to bring back the meat.
Also when I was sizing up the box there would be plenty of room for one person to sleep inside, but not 2.
Yes I will be building a proper roof rack and yes I have looked in to trailer hitch baskets, even a small trailer, but the cabin gain is amazing and for now I am satisfied with the clarity and base from the system.

Believe it or not that f350 with the trailer is also a 1 man set up. At first I didn't, but then I realized how crazy my buddy is.

3 very important things I learned on the first trip.

1 The factory Michelin tires are crap.
2 Some times ABS is a good thing. Coming down steep hill covered with snow it saved my ass going around a corner. (I didn't have a chance to shit to 4low)
3 The bulbs in my after market head lights ware absolute garbage.


This is high beams.






I replaced the bulbs with some silver stars, aimed the head lights higher, fixed my fog lamps and installed some proper piaa bulbs. (also did the fog light switch mod)

For now its good enough but I will defiantly be adding more lights.

Still have the tires, they'll last me through the summer. Looking to buy BFG KM2s or Yokohama Geolanders.
Only reason for the geolander is they would be in 265/75/16 and that's what my dad has right now, he is happy and wants another set when his wear out. So when I install my lift and go with something bigger I could just give them to my him instead of trying to sell them.
 
the headlights on the 3rd gen are garbage, no light bulb will ever help them. Period.

These guys are AWESOME, service is top notch! i bought the HID's bulbs elsewhere due to their price, but everything else is straight from TRS, i've done this mod on 2 vehicles this way, perfect!

i keep meaning to take pictures / video of my own retrofit, but never have gotten off my arse to do it.....
 
tyr0981 - It's still a possibility, I even have a pair of Lexus IS250 lights from a wreck I can use. Most of the time I don't need that much light, hell I could probably drive in the city with my lights off and still be able to see. Its when I'm in the bush that I require the extra lighting. For the effort and down time on my rig I have considered external LED lights and selling the Lexus lights to recoup some of the cost. I Just ordered a dozen LED lights from Gaterose (who by the way has been amazing to deal with) Yes I know there will be times where the LED lights will not be ideal or usable at all, but we will see after they get installed and put to the test.
