I still have not done any work on this. Sadly I've been too busy. I did get out to the shop tonight and start on my half doors. I found a pic from google images of a door I liked and tried my best copy it. So far, so good. I'm not much of a welder, so after fitting the sheet metal I'll have a buddy weld new panels onto the doors for me.

Mounted the 37's after work today, I used 14oz of .177 steel bb's in each one. Damn, tightening 144 bolts several times each takes a while, and I can't feel the tips of my fingers anymore...lol
I also ordered a site decal a few weeks back and just put it on tonight, now I can represent!

When it came time to buy, we looked at dozens of homes. We where lucky enough to find this place on some property with a nice size shop and the house unfinished. It was the only way I could have afforded the place. The shop was finished and done very well, it's even got an old school single post-in floor lift. The previous owner was the builder and worked out the shop. It took me a couple years to finish the house and we love it. The shop is 32'x62'
And NO, the awesome '34 Ford is not mine. I wish it was though!

After owning a couple Toyota's in high school and building engines for hotrods that my buddies owned, I picked up my '66 Chevelle. That was in 1996. Lucky for me, prices where not crazy high back then and I've been fortunate to keep ahold of it all these years. I've bought and sold a few, but have hung onto my '69 Chevelle as well. I inherited the Nova, it belonged to my best friend who passed away in '02. The '61 chevy short box is a friends, I hope to have it together next spring. I also have my great grandfather's '31 five window model A coupe stashed away in the attached garage, it's in a hundred pieces.
My problem is that I have too many projects and cannot focus on one at a time. This 4Runner is the perfect example as I picked them up while in the middle of an engine swap in my '66. Now it will take me another six to eight months to save the $$ for the fuel system to finish the LQ4 swap. I love owning them all, but it kind of sucks at times not having the money to get them where I would like. My most important job right now is being a responsible dad, that's plenty to stress over, these toys are on the bottom of the priority list right now. I get to them when I can.

Sold my '70 Chevelle to pay the closing costs on this house.
Every now and then I'll still take on a build or do some tuning for buddies to help pay for my hobby. It's fun to have really cool race cars and hotrods coming through here. They all think I'm out of my mind to spend money on old 4Runner. It makes me laugh though, I love these things as much as my cars.

The c-clip? I ordered a couple from MC. Those clips can be a real pita to deal with....

Yes, the C-clip. I'll have to order a couple.
I sure underestimated how much time it takes to put it back together! I did spend a lot of time prepping and painting though. The left side is nearly done, just need to re assemble the hub and install it. I have the knuckle installed on the passenger side, but will have to wait for the new axle C-clip to continue. I'm sure glad I did this maintenance though, I sure found a lot of half assed stuff, broken bolts, missing washers and snap rings. The PO had removed the brake backing plates and didn't bother to add a spacer, just smashed the spindle seal by over tightening the bolts. Lucky for me, the other housing I bought for its drop out on CL, had the elim spacers! At least I have a better idea of how it all works now.

Dude, no kidding, my axle housing was the same way. Smh. I got mine off an '83 with a SBC conversion so I expected issues. I was really glad I tore it down to all its pieces. Stuff was really corroded, hubs were beat up, bolts were rounded off and I had to replace the sort side birf because it was shot. I was really glad I did it myself. Only bad thing I have to deal with is the drivers side brake caliper lower mount stripped out....

I busted both c-clips when I did my front axle, had to scramble to find a pair in time to put it back together. I think I'll have a pair on hand before I try that again...
BBP, I thought you were still IFS. Did you sneak a straight axle under your truck?
