Been a year a two days since I've updated this...just thought I would post and say hello

Nothing new to report, truck is same as before; rolling with the day to day but no money to spend on the truck currently. Maintenance has been kept up, but no new mods....yet

Been taking lots of trips, hitting the trails and camping. I'll try and get some pictures to post up from upcoming trips.

I like what you have done to keep it nice and purty!
Mine is around 159k now and I need to completely repaint/cleanup all the trim and items that aren't the main body. Do you have any recommendations on the type of paint I should use for the roof rack, spoiler, bumpers, etc?

What'd ya get?

Sourced a used pair of LC coils, new 5100s for the rears. PanHard bracket (going to weld a brace back to the frame). Toytec Boss coilovers with LR UCAs. A dif drop and some other necessary parts. I can't wait.

Now I need to decide on tires...going to run my stockers, split three spokes. Maybe I'll go for the pizza cutter 255s. :pop2::pop2::pop2:

Did you see the eBay/Discount Tire $100 off $400?

I'm just glad my wife doesn't get on here...I just bought 4 new BFG KM2s....add that to the lift that is enroute via FedEx right now and my bank hurts.

I did just buy my wife this last week:

So hopefully she doesn't shoot me for spending so much on the runner in the past couple days.

I'm excited to finally get this going.

what was the price jump/difference between the two?

I mean the cost of fuel, not the cost of the engine. I didn't price them out separately. I knew I wanted the 4.6 and went for that. It's a used one, a few years old, 2012. Hard to find nice Sequoias, everyone holds on to them and only sells them when they have a billion miles on them. This one was a good one.

it is a nice one. im thinking of getting one for my fiance whose prego with two and its a hard choice between this and a used LC but i like this better.

For us, the choice was Sequoia hands down. Wife is prego with number 4 and while there is the seating room in a LC, there really isn't much room for anything else (and the newer LC you get, the more expensive they come). I got a "new car" - for all intents and purposes - at half the price of a brand new one, its 4X4 for our road trips up north (and even has a center diff lock), roomy, and if it scratches, will I be peeved? Sure. But it isn't a $90k LC. lol. Its a damn good wagon, and I enjoy driving it. And I have driven a 5.7, to be honest, this 4.6 has a lot of power and I do NOT find it lacking anything.

They're HERE! The lift should arrive tomorrow, according to FedEx...fingers crossed.

After having the 4runner for years, it is finally getting an upgrade - a well deserved upgrade. Just came today! Unfortunately, I have a 10 hour monthly training day at work tomorrow, so the parts will sit in my house and distract my mind ALL day.

Since we got the Sequoia, the runner is no longer the kid hauler. It's moving into being my daily driver/project/trail rig. Yesterday I finally installed the LC 8.75/8.25 wraps I had along with Bilstein 5100's in the rear. For the front I got Toytec Boss coilovers and Light Racing UCAs.

Pre-lift hub to fender measurements:

Fnt Pass - 21"
Fnt Drv - 21.25"
Rr Pass - 20.75"
Rr Drv - 21"

Old stock springs vs. LC 8.75 wraps:

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/till_wehave_faces/media/4Runner/20160315_145629.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/till_wehave_faces/4Runner/20160315_145629.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160315_145629.jpg"/></a>

Rear lift only:

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/till_wehave_faces/media/4Runner/20160315_155359.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/till_wehave_faces/4Runner/20160315_155359.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160315_155359.jpg"/></a>

Coilover and UCA:

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/till_wehave_faces/media/4Runner/20160315_172623.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/till_wehave_faces/4Runner/20160315_172623.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160315_172623.jpg"/></a>

New post-lift hub to fender measurements:

Both fronts - 23.75"
Rr Pass - 24.5"
Rr Drv - 25.5"

I'm concerned over the height discrepancy in the rear...I know one of the coils was longer than the other, but assumed the longer went on the driver side. I was using the gas tank as my theory. Oh well. If anyone has any pointers on that, would be appreciated.

Post Lift/Pre tires (This picture is with my fully mounted spare and 4 unmounted tires in the back):

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/till_wehave_faces/media/4Runner/20160316_173553.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/till_wehave_faces/4Runner/20160316_173553.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160316_173553.jpg"/></a>

New stance:

<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/user/till_wehave_faces/media/4Runner/20160317_135248.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b56/till_wehave_faces/4Runner/20160317_135248.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20160317_135248.jpg"/></a>

Very happy with the 255/85r16 KM2s (will have to see how they do in the dirt).

I am NOT very happy with the way my SR5 trim is looking, especially the wrong mud guards on the front. A couple years back, I smacked a downed and underwater log on a trail...while driving through a long flooded section...and it bent my rear driver side fender flare, front side, towards the tire. It looks like it rubs in the picture, but I JUST clear it. It does, however, look ridiculous. I need to find a way to clean that up. If anyone has any suggestions for the flares I'm open to it. I tried bending it back but it won't.

I also think, from looking at the stance now, that I'm going to eventually get wheel spacers. The skinny tires sunk into the fender and I wouldn't mind the extra inches in stability anyhow.
In other news. Greased the drive line with heavy duty grease. The stuff is awesome. I also used the grease to fill the LR UCA ball joints. I really don't want any failures so I'll be sure to upkeep that component.

To Do:

Extended sway links (besides being maxed out now, the bushings are completely shot).

Look into rack/pinion bushings and inner/outer joints.

Think about LBJs.

Timing belt.

Congratulations on the lift, it looks great!

The longer coil does go on the drivers side for sure, the idea being as you said the weight of the gas tank and the weight of the driver assuming that most of the time the driver is alone in the vehicle.
OME makes a 10mm and 5mm spacer you can put on the passenger side to even it out, I guess you could also cut the coil slightly but that would be riskier.
