finally installed my reverse lights, color matched housing

TiN did an awesome job with the 3D printing. Color matched the housing and installed the lights today

Would this install be considered doable for those who are not as savvy like others when it comes to modding? I'm very noob but I came across this thread and I love it. Would love to see if you could do a DYI write up for this install!

The install is pretty easy; not much modification required since the 3D printed portion is designed specifically to work with the T4R's rear reflector housing. I can definitely put together a write-up in the near future though!

I am interested but would prefer a mold to fit a cube light instead of the round. I have been looking at the cube flush mounts and wondering where I could mount them. Any chance you could do a new design for cubes?

Fitting full size 2x2 LED cubes would require a good bit of modification to the bumper and reflector housing. This was the main reason I chose to make my design compatible with the smaller lights, as they fit with no cutting or grinding. At some point I may try to make a design for the larger cubes, but it'll have to be very different from my current design.

this looks awesome, I'd be interested. so you print the cover replacement, that goes on the stock housing? how does it attach? how does the led light attach to the housing? any cutting of the housing needed, or does the light fit right in?

Yep, the cover replacement is 3D printed.

The OEM reflector lens can be separated from the reflector housing by heating it up, and the printed cover can be attached in the same manner with adhesive sealant.

The printed covers have integrated mounting points for the LED light; the only hardware needed is what is included with the LED light.

The only modification required is to drill a 22mm hole in the back of the reflector housing for the light's power cable.

The lights look great! I purchased 800 lumen white LED bulbs for the reverse lights. Now I can see everything through my factory tinted windows.

TiN - what is the estimated angle the cubes point at? doing some maths/trig to determine between 30/60/120 degree cubes. prob doesn't matter in the end, but curious. ty

They should be pretty close to perpendicular with the rear of the vehicle. The mounting angle was referenced to the inner flat surfaces of the reflector housing, which appear to run nearly parallel with the length of the body.

Yep, still selling these as I can get them printed. I don't live at home so I have limited access to my 3D printer. Working on getting access to a printer here at the university, but until then, it may be a few weeks until I have some on hand to sell. I'll definitely get back with you when I have some in stock though!

As for the wiring, it can be done any way you like. I simply have them hooked up to a switched harness so I can turn them on whenever. Some have wired their harnesses into the reverse light circuit so they come on at the same time as the oem reverse lights.

Good work. The round lights remind me of 007. Maybe a little vented barrel with the round led. Something for the tailgaters in traffic to think about!
