The rattle...

Hello everyone, before I get started I just wanted to say thanks in advance for your responses. Also, I did try the search function for my question, however I couldn't find what I was looking for. My question is , I picked up a new to me 08 sport, and have noticed that there is a rattling coming from the two sensors located on the drivers side dash board where it meets the windshield. I believe its the auto headlight and solar sensor. Any ideas of how to quick fix this? I stopped at the dealer, and they told me that they would remove the entire dash, and basically apply felt type material from the inside. This would be covered under warranty, however I would have to leave the car there all day and its kind of a pain. And ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If it's just loose in its mount, could you just inject some glue or clear caulk into the crack?

DOOZI, thats what one of the techs at Toyota said, he mentioned some black caulk, but that it wouldnt look to good if mistakes were made since its such a difficult angle to get at unless you remove the dash or at least parts of the dash. I can literally tap on the dash with my fingers and you can hear it rattling. Funny thing is, I had an 07 4runner that I traded for this truck and that dash was as quite as could be. Dont know, I guess since Toyota is paying for the fix, just have to sit there and wait.

Well since i had some time today, decided to shovel some snow and try to figure out how to fix that rattle. Didnt have time to bring it to the dealer this week so it was driving me crazy. It seemed that there was something in between the dash and the windshield, at first I thought it was those sensors on the dash on the drivers side, but after tapping on the dash for a while, it seemed that it was where the dash met the windshield. I found some felt strips and decided to try to wedge it between those two surfaces. To my surprise...found that a razor blade had fallen between the dash and the windshield and thus discovered my rattle. Since I just picked the truck up two weeks ago, I figured that it happened when they were removing those price stickers that the dealer puts on the inside of the windshield. My new problem, as I was attempting to squeeze my hand in between the glass and window, the razor slipped out of sight and presumabley fell behind the dash. Now the question, any ideas as to how I can remove the top part of the dash? Even though the rattle is gone for now, I'd like to get that razor blade out of there if its not to difficult.
