someone in the media who doesn't have their head up their asses.. thats a first :hiding:

Finally a writer with a brain and some common sense! I agree with everything in his article. Very well written and he makes excellent points. Boy, a lot of the things he said seem very familiar...close to posts I've made on this forum. But of course the media darlings would rather side against Toyota instead, LOL

Im glad someone decided to speak up. If we can only convince more now.

I hate how people who dont have any experience with the issue just hop on the bandwagon and assume every Toyota now is a death trap. I get crap all the time for having a toyota. as far as im concerned, its still one of the best/safest SUVs on the road, by far.

the below quote is so well said....I will buy a Toyota again with no hesitation.

"So what's the net effect of this situation? First, we no longer let our logic be steered by engineering and science. Instead, we seem to be letting courtroom-worthy theatrics sway our emotions. It's not the true facts of the case that win the day, but whoever can sway the public's mind the best"

appreciate the link

Excellent article. remember that the Samurai incident noted is substantially to blame for the rollover hysteria that infected all SUvs for a short time.

Soon some other auto issue will soon come along-like "exploding cupholders" to be sarcastic, and all this will be forgotten.

Now where can I get one of those early Audi Quattros....:wow2:

I like Ed's articles, particularly this one about banking

Meanwhile, up in Canada, now with the world's safest banks, they didn't de-regulate their industry ( banking ), didn't lower the credit standards for new loans, and certainly fought tooth and nail for every last manufacturing job in their country. And guess what? In the last six years, while the average U.S. income fell behind the total rate of inflation, Canadian incomes have gone up at more than twice our national rate. And Canada's government did not have to bail out one single bank.

Everyone gets a turn eventually, now it's Toyota's turn. Meanwhile lots of RAV4 V6 owners complaining about whining transmissions, and Toyota says its normal. Failed water pumps are another problem. Just got the " customer service campaign" letter to replace the oil return hose on V6 in the RAV4. Owners have been complaining for several years about oil hose failure and Toyota is just now finally getting around to dealing with it. But I still like the RAV4.
