After a two year hiatus from the of land 4Runners, I am proud to say I am back in a 3RD GEN!!!!!!
Not just any 3rd Gen, a 2000 Highlander 5 speed Manual in Millennium Silver with Tan Interior! This is exactly the same as my diseased 4Runner "The Silver Legacy".
I had been searching high and low, far and wide for TWO years for the right 4Runner! I ended up finding her just a couple blocks from my home!! It took me all of 5 minutes to hand over the cash and sign the Pink Slip.
I have been driving a 2004 V8 Touareg for the last two years and while the luxury and speed (its really fast) were nice I am elated to be reunited with what I consider to be the best/most fun SUV ever made!
I purchased her from the original owner with only 113,500 miles, it has never been in an accident and aside from needing an extremely thorough cleaning, the seller has two young boys and a golden retriever, she is perfect in every way!
My modifications will probably not be anything ground breaking just a lift and some minor things and hopefully a supercharger down the road
So far I have cleaned it rather thoroughly vacuumed the interior and tried to get all the stains out of the back seat carpet (from his kids), its looking much better now.
I also did an oil change at a friends house, he has a 4 Post lift so we put it up and I took a good look at everything overall I was very happy with what I saw but the oil was dirtier then I expected and there is quite a bit of gunk under the oil filler cap, didn't want to experiment with any fancy magic engine cleaners yet I am going to do a few oil changes over the next couple thousand miles and see if it cleans it up. Although, I have been reading the recent posts about KREEN and it sounds like good stuff.
For those of you wondering my old 4Runner fell victim to an idiot driver who was speeding on the SF Bay Bridge and spun out hit a Dodge Ram that fish tailed and T-Boned me into the beams on the lower deck RIP
