The Time Has Come.

Gentlemen,

We were in a time of great sorrow, weather you realized it or not.

For the last 6 months, I have been battling a CEL, more specificaly a P0125 code. After throwing everything I could at the code, new O2 sensors, new thermostat, new ECT sensors front and rear, Radiator flush; I feared the worst, thinking my ECU has finally given out after all the abuse I've put it through.

Then, I came across a member, DeathCougar, who blew some much needed air into the smothering flame of my Riley. He happened to have just what I was looking for: a 1999 4Runner FEDERAL harness. With much thought, I debated weather to get the harness, or to give up and sell my love. I gave her one last shot.

Purchasing the harness from DeathCougar, I also purchased two new O2 sensors from Amazon. Two weeks ago I swapped out the harness, and when my O2 sensors arrived, I realized Amazon had sent the wrong one. Obviously, I got this rectified.

Friday I began the fabrication of the exhaust. Figured "Why not? If this works, I'll have it all done at the same time."

Got everything welded up, put it together, plugged the O2 sensors in, and went for a test drive.

60 miles, later, NO CEL!!!!!!

So, again I say "The Time Has Come."

The time has come for more Mods. Work on Riley will begin with a renewed vigor. There will nary be a day when something doesn't get done to her.

To DeathCougar, and Singtoe, and Docs2ndbest:

Thank you both. DeathCougar, for your timely posting of the 4Runner you were parting out in the classifieds, and the prompt delivery of the wiring harness. Couldn't have gotten this fixed with out you.

Singtoe, thank you for helping me trouble shoot this Charlie Foxtrot, and giving encouraging words; as well as sending those wiring diagrams and talking me through them.

To my 2nd Best: Thank you for the continued support and dealing with the situations as they arose. Thank you for the continued use of your G6, and the continued patience of figuring this out. You're amazing.

Stay tuned to "Doc's ZRV" for the most recent updates........

You're welcome. Although I'm seriously debating rehab for this addiction. The day we have money saved and baby stuff bought, I will gladly smile and wave as you walk out the door to drive god-knows-where for truck parts. But, until that day comes, can you PLEASE stop spending every free moment on the truck and every free dime on her too?

Hey, I'm growing your demon spawn inside me, so it's totally a small request in comparison

Mine was because I was sold a Cali Emissions Harness, when my truck is a Federal.

It's more than likely just one of your O2 sensors going bad. If the heater circut goes out in one, it will throw the code, because the system isnt going into "closed loop operation."

I hope so! I got a thermostat thinking it might be getting thrown due to it sticking but 02 is next on the list!!

Doc did the CEL start after going in the deep water?

Ironically enough, no. LOL.

When I did my 4WD conversion, I took the harness out of the other donor, and put it into mine. The ADD never worked, and while I was trying to figure out how to take the actuator off the back of the t-case, I thought "F*ck this!!!" I then proceeded to do the Manual t-case swap. Well, when I did the swap, there was no need for the actuator wiring. So, I tucked it up out of the way, wraped it in electrical tape, and went about my day.

Once I got a drive shaft that fit and put it in, I wa driving down the road, and all of the sudden the truck lurches, and doesn't want to drive anymore.

What happened? The ADD actuator wiring got wrapped up on the prop shaft, ripping ALL the wiring that was under there. The O2 sensors, ADD, shift sensors, ALL of it.

So, I called around, and there was a guy I get parts from in Asheville that told me he had a 2000 4Runner, and I was more than welcome to come take a look and see if the harness worked. It plugged into my ECU, so I thought I was golden.

Little did I know that the truck was a Cali emissions truck. After trying everything I stated above, I had just about given up.

Glad everything is working out for you and the 4runner. And L O L at demon spawn!

thank you! Yeah, she doesn't like when he kicks her in the ribs, or sits on her bladder (which he does A LOT!!)

Definately do the O2 if that doesn't work. Just make sure you get the right ones....

Jesus.

This post is older than Jason is!

But yes. He is one cute demon spawn.

More like a cuddle spawn. He loves to freaking cuddle.

Yep. I was pregnant in the first pic you posted. Hence the hoodie zipped all the way up. How do I make my profile pic appear in the app babe?
