Were you generally pretty satisfied with the Nittos? Curious how these Pit Bulls compare, on and off road...

I was beyond satisfied with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They are hands down the best all around tire I've ever used. If my rig was still a DD I'd have stayed with them. Since it's not and it's morphed into a hard trial rig I really wanted a true 35. I also have only heard great things about Pit Bull. When I had the chance to get 5 of them delivered to my house cheaper then I could get 315/70r17 Ridge Grapplers for. It was really a no brainer.

Highway wise they will be louder and wear faster. Wheeling wise they will be much better. The trade-off for me was an easy choice.

As many have figured out, everything still works. I bought a new set of 5 tires last night. I did a 2 / 3 split using two coupons for $200 off total. If someone in my local group was ready to pull the trigger I might have waited to split purchasing two 5th tires to split the last $400 qualifying discount for an additional $50 off. But I wanted to act on impulse and make sure I got in while the getting was good this go around.

But, there IS an additional $70 gift card offer via Cooper for my tires, so.. that's better than a sharp stick in the face! So there.

I've noticed this as well. Not just limited to tires, but a lot of times during these marketed sales with designated sellers, the seller will increase the base price.

Still, compared to Walmart, utilizing this coupon, you can save about $50, for a brand new basic set of 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro RH12's. Which hey, $50 is $50. You are also getting free ship, you don't have to drive to Walmart to pick up, and saving another $10 on tax.

The best deal usually on ebay is to wait for their 8-10% ebay bucks. Or their most recent sale of 15% off site wide. Which is rare, but once or twice a year, and the ebay bucks deals are usually quarterly.

This particular deal is for any tires or wheels over $400 from any seller, even for used items as long as it's not an auction. Most of the sellers like Discount don't change their price but unfortunately some do.

The 10-15% one day site wide sales have been happening about once a month. I got my Falken Wildpeaks during a Memorial Day sale through Discount for 15% off and a $75 rebate. But instead of going through eBay, I called my local store and they matched the price since it was also from DTD and installed them free. Plus, I didn't have to have them delivered to my house, then load them up to have them installed.

I have a big wish list on eBay and go on every day to check for the site wide sales. Then when there is one, I buy whatever I can afford to at a very good price. I bought 3 of my 4wd transfer switches, Spidertrax wheel spacers, Champion aluminum radiator, Toyota coolant and ATF that way. And that's just the 4runner stuff.

I got these bad boys for my 2000 runner during that 15% site wide sale.

Probably the best instant savings I ever got on eBay.

And when I did my 2005 Tundra brake upgrade, 13WL, all OEM, I waited for the 10% ebay bucks to get all the pieces and got about $50-60 back.

Both the Redmond and Bellevue Discount Tire stores would honor the $100 off per $400 spent coupon. Last night got (4) 265/75R16 K02's installed for $783 out the door in Bellevue.

Shoot Ryder, we should have synced up and tag teamed the sale. I too was being impulsive and didn't want to "miss out." Thanks again for the heads up though!

That is what I did. I split them into two purchases. And once I have all the paperwork as proof of purchase, I will send in for the Cooper promo gift card or whatever they got going. If I had 17s, I would probably have gotten 295/70/17s to get a tall 33" tire myself. I wish more companies made the 285/75/17 (34" tire). Then I would have gone for that. I just didn't feel like buying new wheels.

Looking good! Glad it worked out well for you man! Yeah, I wanted to hurry up and get what I was looking for before they ran out. That way, if I am not happy, I can take a second swing in March and unload what I don't like. Hahaha. I am pretty sure I will dig em. It's just more work to clear them.
