The worst 4Runner review ever. Help take this video down!!!

Hey guys,

Here's the worst 4Runner review ever. This lady has no idea what she is talking about and I hate her so much for trying to degrade the 5th generation 4Runners. Please help take this video down simply by typing "TAKE THIS VIDEO DOWN" on Youtube page. She does mention 4Runners perfect off-road capability but not merely enough to give the 4Runner all the pampering it truly deserves.

I'd also like to hear your true opinion of her and her review here on this thread. Thank you all for your support in advance!!!

I don't think she said anything that wasn't true. Her biggest gripes were due to her small stature and and the comfort of the car. I don't think it's a secret that the 4Runner isn't the most luxurious SUV out there, but then again I don't think most of us bought our 4Runners thinking that either. Personally, I bought mine because I wanted off-road capability and reliability neither of which she knocked. So while it probably isn't as glowing a review as some of the members here would've given it I believe it probably is true to her demographic (soccer moms).

I concur. My wife wanted something tough and safe to drive, and didn't want a minivan. The 4Runner is a great replacement for my Tacoma. Another point, the reviewer did not test a TE with KDSS, I am sure the ride would have received better marks, but she would have given extra bad marks for the height!

There will always be a bad review or three about any vehicle. People that drive the 4runner for themselves will have to make the decision. If they buy the 4R from reviews alone, they are foolish.

Opinions are like @$$h0les, everyone has one, and some of them stink.
 
Obviously a very biased review but since when do we hate and want to remove that which we don't agree with?
 
I don't think it was a bad review she stated the problems that most people complain about (with the SR5) Brake dive and body roll. But she said right off the bat it was a truck based suv and rides like one.
 
I tend to agree with all of the posts. She has a right to her opinion, but the scary part is that she and her like-minded consumers are going to drive the vehicle market to unibody, CV jointed, crossovers with no options for a truck based SUV. The 4runner is the last of its kind! Hopefully our $$ investments keep Toyota confident they made the right decision on how to theme the 5th gen. If the 5th gen is unsuccessful for Toyota then we can blame people like this automotive expert, at least in part, for pushing people away from this great vehicle and ultimately forcing us into crossovers down the road when that's all the market supports... :ybrick:
 
I would say its an accurate review. I think they missed the mark with the squared off styling and lack of a v8 option. Rest are traditional 4Runner complaints. I had considered trading in my 07 Sr5 for a 2010 but after several test drives, Ill keep the 2007.
 
I think people take these reviews to much to heart and most of us are biased toward a 4Runner vs say a negative review of a Jeep.

It's just her opinion and giving you opinion must be a great job to have especially writing for a car rag.

Since Always... It's human nature... And NO I don't agree with the most of you....

The information given to the consumer is bias and from a soccer-moms point of view. She doesn't even understand the reasoning behind getting a 4Runner. Maybe she should've been reviewing pots and pans for CR or maybe the Sienna or the Highlander but not the 4Runner.

Check some of her remarks;
-4Runner has been left behind
-Bad ride and handling cause it's truck based
-Suspension so soft that it's almost a fault
-Body has constant wobbling that will make your kids sick
-Steering is vage and very slow to respond
-4WD in SR5 is annoying because you have to turn it "ON" "OFF" (duhhhhh)
-Squatty windows and bad vision upfront
-Rearview image is just too small (maybe she wants a 50" plasma put there)
-High-step in to the 4Runner
-Lots of hard plastic that don't fit in places
-Knobs are far away
-Audio font is small to see and presets do not align to actual buttons
-Driving position could use improvement, dash is too high
-Seats are too flat and feels like sitting atop not in
-High floor and flat cushions lack thigh support
-There are a lots of better choices out there


Yes, we all have the freedom to promote our ideas, thoughts and opinions as this is what this country was founded on. Ones right to free speech!!! But this is not an opinion. This is bashing... This is attempted murder... I want to use our right to free speech as 4Runner enthusiasts and help stop 4Runner bashing by this suckermom...

I mean look at it this way,
If you are in agreement with these remarks than why the heck do you have a 4Runner? Why are you a member of this forum? You might as well go sell your 4Runner to a proud owner and buy a minivan as a miniman.

All you have to do is type "Take this video down" on Youtubes page to help stop 4Runner bashing. You're not stepping on anyones toes by doing so, you're merely practicing your right to help stop degrading something you truly love... Isn't that what love is all about?

I don't think we have any reason to vote for youtube to take the video down, even if we disagree with her opinions, she should be free to share them. The only bad part about it is that she is representing "Consumer Reports", who I usually trust for reviews. They're one of the few publications that are totally non profit, buy their test products off the shelves, and don't take kickbacks from mfgs.

I do agree with the comment that she would be better off reviewing mini vans or crossovers. She is a small build woman who probably rarely ventures off road, has the need to carry large things, tow trailers, etc. This vehicle is not made for her so having her review it is very strange. Could you imagine her review of a Dodge 3500 dualie? The ride is too stiff....the gas mileage is poor....its not luxurious enough....there's not enough cup holders.....it would be just as irrelevant.

Also, the video gives her the title of "automotive engineer". I would be interested in her credentials and degrees.

I "disliked" the video.

I don't think she really knows what she's talking about. She focuses most of her attention on the negatives and hardly acknowledges what the positive aspects of the 4runner.

Definitely doesn't look like she goes off-road but it does look like she ventures into the "bush" every now and then if you know what I mean. :lol:
 
She'd be much better served taking her Subaru down to Bay area for mocha latte

She lost me when she had some dude drive the car up "steep rock slope"
 
If she were taller half of the criticisms wouldn't matter. Also, I'd rather have guts than a cushioned interior, as I think I don't absolutely need plush and expensive, probably like I don't absolutely need serious off-road ability, but if I had to choose one....
 
The review seemed very un-biased and accurate. It spelled out the facts, pros and cons, and actually gives people better understanding as too what the 4runner offers. In the end the 4runner is not for everyone. Why take it down?
 
that makes as much sense as voting to take your post down? she is the one reviewing the vehicle, she stated what she likes, and dislikes, hence why you watched it. are you afraid of your resale value? are you upset she doesn't like your truck? I don't get it? do you like your rig any less? do you feel like people will look at you as foolish for your purchase after reviewing this video? is this what you felt like after you rocked your milli vanilli shirt in high school and bragged how great their music was? hahaha, sorry for the last part, but I think you're making too much of it, and the fact it bothers you strengthens her points.
 
This review is not a honest representation of a "4R review", it is more along the lines of "I like crossovers better than SUVs, and I will make my case by ignoring the fact that the 4R is made to be an SUV, not a crossover."
