Theft Alarm System?

From what I can understand from my new owners manual, my '06 T4R comes with an anti-theft system that essentially makes the engine inoperable and will make some honking noise if someone breaks into my truck.
I'm thinking that I probably don't need an aftermarket alarm system beyond that. The truck will be in a locked garage at night.
Plus I don't think Anchorage has any chop shops, and if you steal a vehicle, where are you going to take it to "escape". It wouldn't make it across the border to Canada without the State Troopers getting it first.
My Porsche has an aftermarket alarm system. One evening I was at a restaurant and set the alarm. Apparently that was the last of the juice in the remote. When I tried to leave, the alarm went off and I couldn't turn it off. So I drove all the way home (12 miles through the city) with the alarm blaring and the lights flashing (and this is a red Porsche). No one stopped me, and I got home and turned it off with the spare remote.
So, what's the point of an aftermarket alarm in my situation?

The 4Runner comes with a built-in engine immobilizer. Basically the 3 keys you should have received with the truck have a computer chip. Without the right cut key and the correctly programmed chip, the 4Runner will NOT start. If you get a key cut at Home Depot, it will not start the truck (it'll get you inside it though).

Did your truck also come with the RS3200? That is the Toyota optional alarm for our trucks. Or did your truck come with an optional 3rd party alarm?

Your truck comes with the engine immobilizer built in. The key fob gets you keyless entry and a panic button (horns beep loudly when you press it in for a second or two). The panic button is found on the back of the key fob.

I believe only the limited comes with the alarm system. The RS3200 can actually be turn off even if your battery die on your fob. Unlocking the door with the key will turn off the alarm.

Even the Limited doesn't come with the RS3200.
I believe all the RS3200 adds is a glass breakage sensor.
The engine immobilizer is standard, and it also cuts off the engine if a door is opened without being unlocked with a key or the remote. You can test this by rolling down your window, locking the truck, and then reaching in the window to unlock the door and open it.
